The drum of my washer does not spin freely. When I manually spin the drum, I found myself having to push it along to turn on one side. Also I found pieces of white plastic on my laundry? Please advise...

This drum is driven by motor which is coupled with a belt that connects the drum and the motor, the is a possibility of a broken belt,or the motor is stack, may be the motor is not receiving power for the motor to be driven to drive the drum.

To access this you need to open the screws at the back of the washer, the plastic pieces is a sign of some broken parts in the washer,if you find that it's the belt that slept off the puller place it back and test but unplug the washer from power before doing all this.

Washer does not agitate or spin after cycles but fills and empties water and motor is going

Belt is broken. Remove front cover of washer. If you look where top meets front in the seam there are two clips, using a flat head screwdriver push into seam and pop clip. Front will then remove. Check belt at bottom of unit. Replace with the same belt. Difficult to get new belt on! You have to start with belt on motor pulley then on drum pulley holding and turning drum pulley as you stretch belt around pulley. Replace front cover.

How to attache drive belt to drive drum .belt will not reach.loosening bolts that hold motor on did not help.forced on but belt twisted on drum.

Remove rear cover of washer, and top cover also, tilt washer towards you, get someone to hold washer steady, fit belt round motor pulley, and slowly feed belt round drum pulley, watch your fingers, keep feeding belt round oulley, turning drum at same time, it will be tight, but persist, and belt will go on.

How to replace the belt on a whirlpool duet washer

To replace the drive belt on a Whirlpool Duet washer, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the washer and remove the rear panel.

2. Place the drive belt on the drive motor pulley with the ribbed side on the drive motor pulley. Leave a one-groove gap between the belt and the end of the pulley.

3. Take both hands and pull straight up on the belt and place on the drum pulley beginning on the left hand side.

4. Hold the belt firmly in place and slowly turn the pulley to the right while holding the belt in place. The belt will eventually align and hold in place on the drum pulley.

NOTE: This may require some effort to get the belt in place.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Replaced broken washer belt, but drum still won't spin.

you may have a bad bearing in a pulley, could be motor coupling. Take belt off and spin motor shaft and pulley both ways if it's free, then its more than likely not the motor. Now spin the drum with belt off and see if it does the same as with the belt on if it does it has to be a bad bearing or coupling to the drum. hope this helps

Washer drum not rotating

Hi,

The reason for the washer drum not to rotate is either the belt or the motor. Check the belt. It may be broken or, it may have slipped of the pulley or drive motor. If the belt is fine, replace the motor.

Belt keeps coming off the pulley

I suggest you check your drum bearings, belt will only come off if misaligned.

Washer Stopped Spinning

My Frigidaire front loading washer is less than 2 years old and YES there is a belt, I am going to replace my 3rd belt this week.....the wheel on the back of the drum has moved enough, even after numberous times of tightening, that it has worn a HUGE hole in the back of the drum from the belts. I will NEVER buy another product from them again, due to not standing behind their product and sending a repair man to my home to fix it, then telling me that I will have to replace the drum....(ltf2940es0).
