Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Toshiba LED tv 50L 1400U lower half of screen dark shading and increasing day by day.

According to the service manual this set has 2 separate power supply voltages for the LED's and it sounds like there is at least one bad lamp in the panel, if you have a volt meter test the 2 and see if one is at a lower voltage than the other...one other possibility would be if you have Tcon board issues

My TV has sound but screen is dark

Go into menu settings of tv and look to see if the energy saving box is ticked.this is usually designed to run by selection of user not by default from factory.you may even have an intelligent saver which can detect if the screen is using a lot of power when the image is predominantly white as opposed to black so it turns the brightness down.too clever for its own good!

Model # 32A43 brightness problem

Check for about 100 to 500 volts on G2 pin (screen voltage) when screen control is adjusted,if less than 200 volts, remove the g2 capacitor(from G2 to ground) on crt board,if screen regains brightness, then replace capacitor,if ok ,troubleshoot the ABL circuit, look for an open or changed valued resistor, also check your heater voltage.Good luck.Cheers.

Good Day, Butchilee,
Sounds like you have patience, hope your TV has some trace left. Hit recommends that you replace the originals with
STK-392-150's and the resistors. Replace said items with care then back down on the screen/ focus controls and gradually bring the screens up until you have pic, adjust focus. Go into customer menu and adjust color down, set brightness to 50%, contrast to 100%. Then go back and adjust the screens for proper, black/white, tracking. AND It's best to double check the soldering connections.
Good Luck, Big Irish.

SONY KV-27FV310: UPPER HALF OF SCREEN IS BLACK

You have a vert sweep problem and unless you know how to trouble shoot this cuircit bring it to a pro. I found out mostly in these sets that the vert output IC is bad.. Also sometimes the b+ filter cap off the fly is leaky and made the IC to fail. Another thing is Im surprised to hear you got a pic with the vert failure and a bright line in the pic!! This could be a big problem when the sets fixed so dont run it too long like this. It could burn a line all the way across the screen and you will see a dark faint line in your pic because of this. BE CAREFULL!!
