I would suspect the power supply PCB of the TV is defective.

SOURCE: no sound and no picture. Tried several power

Its Your lcd control board or inverter boards causing this problem. Either board(s) need to be replaced, if the LCD control board developes a fault condition it will cause the inverters to strobe which in turn causes the backlight lamps to flicker .... if the dc-to-dc converters on the inverter board or series resistors open up this will also cause the same affect.....

Testimonial: "So..... How much to fix? Is it worth it. The unit came out of our toy trailer and has been used maybe 10 times"

SOURCE: My TV keeps on turning off by itself or will not turn on

Look for poor solder joint in the power supply board, its the inrush current limiter Thermistor (SCK-85, round disc ) clean both legs real well before resoldering, very common in this TV. Clean the legs and the PCB real well you may to scrape off some of the Green PCB coting to expose copper underneath, then bend both legs flat with the PCB to get more contact and soldering areas, this parts gets hot and cold (thermo cycling) when you turn TV on and OFF, so the soldering works must be really well done.

Proscan LED TV Will power up the red standby light & standby on amber when turned on but does not show picture or sound unless I unplug and replug over

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Proscan 39 inch led tv lost the picture

If only the picture is out, and audio is normal, the fault is with its back-light inverter board. If both picture and sound is absent, and the standby light is ON, the fault is with its main board. If set is fully dead; even there is no standby light at all; the fault is with its main power regulator [SMPS] board. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Proscan 32... When I trun on the TV the light does switchs from one color to another like the TV is on....but the picture doesn't come like the TV was never turned on...I have to unplug and plug it back in...

Sounds like you have bad capacitors in the power board, you can fix it for a couple bucks if your handy with a solder iron or can replace the board if you would rather, most the time power supplies aren't that expensive

My proscan 40" isnt working theres no backlight

Do you have sound? If you have sound and no picture most likely you are dealing with either a back light fault or power supply problem. Dim the lights in the room, take a bright flash light and shine it on the screen with the set on. If you see a faint picture, it's back light/power supply related. When i try to turn the tv on it does it just clicks over and over

Hello,

Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your TV and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps

If i turn off my tv it wont turn back on

This problem is either the TV's software or how the mainboard is distributing power so instead of just unplugging the TV, try a power drain:
1. Unplug the product's power cable so the device is not grounded to the house. 2. Press and HOLD the product's own power button for 1 minute to drain the capacitors. 3. Plug the product back into a wall outlet and try to turn it on.
Note: This procedure works with battery operated devices as well so remove the batteries and hold down it's power/on-off button.  Electricity can remain in capacitors and on circuit boards enough to prevent normal functionality. By clearing the residue electricity, your product will have a fresh start and many times this will resolve a buggy or non-responsive device that appears to be dead.
Since hardware either works or it doesn't, your issue is either software or power related since you can get it to work so hopefully the power drain will indicate further.

No Picture; Has sound and OSD Menu

Try a "hard restart", which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics to a certain extent.
You can also visit the manufacturer's website or call their tollfree number for problem solving info.
Hope these suggestions help you out.
