Re: Why won't my tv display my computer screen
Hi. The best way to hook your computers display to your LCD screen will be to use the VGA input socket. If your video card can support both S-video input and VGA, you can use either one but, the VGA is best for optimal resolution. This is the easy way to do this. Step one, connect the VGA cable to the computers video card and then, run the other end of this same cable to the VGA input slot on the LCD screen.Step 2, next you will make sure that the LCD's input selection is selected to show what is being transferred from the CPU video card by using the input button on the lcd remote control. The lcd(your tv) should be on VGA or PC input signal. Step 3, now, you Will have to also make sure that your video card is set to transfer this signal as well by pulling up your video cards software window and switch to the proper options. once this is done, you should get a signal. Be sure to use the VGA input/output ports on both the lcd television and your cpu for optimal transfer of the video stream. Here is a pic of your back panel. use the input port labeled I for good PC input quality.

You must have to make setting in your ps3 and Display device. Set the display device at auto option for input source. It may be set at VGA. that why you get output of VGA but it does not display output from ps3
may need to tell the laptop in the screen resolution settings to display the image on the tv instead of the laptop. Right click on the empty desktop of the laptop and go to either propertie or screen resolution and then make sure that the computer can see that the tv is hooked up and that the image is showing on the tv instead of the laptop. You may also need to change the mode on the tv to vga.
Once you plug the VGA cable from the computer to the VGA port on the tv, get the remote for the TV and go to the Select Input function so that you can select PC or Computer as the input source. Then Reboot the Computer.
Once the computer reboots it will probably display on the tv. If not, Press and Hold the FN function key on the computer then hit the correct key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the display. The correct key (F1 thru F12) will have LCD/CRT on it or it might have the icon of a display. Once it is pressed the video should toggle each time you hit it from showing on the Computer only, TV only, both the TV and Computer.
Make sure that you have the correct display mode selected. While many connections like a VGA to VGA connection will automatically detect, I don't think a VGA to RCA adapter will. Go to control panel/display and see if your computer has detected the second display. Also make sure the RGB or RCA is selected as the input source on your TV. Once these are both set correctly you should be in business!
Try a different display setting, for example, 1280 x 800 or 1024 x 768. Once you can see (computer) display, then move onto the best resolution which your display card support for your HDTV. Good luck..
(btw, if your dell has two vga sockets, get another vga cable. Then set your computer to a dual display mode, one for your computer and the other for HDTV. this way you will never lose your display.)
If you can disable the blue screen via the tv menu you might see something happening behind that blue ,you might be able to figure it out from there, also try to connect as directly as possible (tv/computer) even if you have to physically move one or the other, that way you can eliminate possible problems. good luck
i have a 26" insignia lcd tv that i use as a montor uou musr set the screen resolution on your computer to 1024x768. if you use a higher resolution it will say no signal.so use your montor to set the resolution to 1024x768 then hook it to the vga and it should work. bob griggs
that's really easy. just plug in a VGA or DVI cord from the PC to the Sova TV (those are both regular cables that normally would go the computer monitor). then press the source button on the remote (not too fast, it takes a second to detect the signal), until you see VGA or DVI, and your computer screen should show up. use the display settings on your computer to get the best resolution on the tv. depending on your computer, you may have a program that can save different screen resolution profiles for you (since the Sova TV resolution and the computer's optimized resolution using a different screen (such as the built in screen on a laptop -- or a different monitor with better resolution than the Sova TV), this way you can easily toggle between settings depending on what monitor you use.
