HP Built-in webcam problem

I'll try to put this as simply as possible: My webcam (built in hardware in the top of the monitor) will work, but as soon as i tilt the screen to where its about 90 degrees or less to the keyboard, the webcam shuts off and a notification comes up saying that it will work faster if I connect the hardware to a USB 2.0 port. It's saying it's becoming disconnected, but how? Any way to fix this? It's not the driver because it works perfectly fine until i go to tilt the screen.

Well the problem is that it's built-in and I'm on a tight budget right now so I want to mainly know what's wrong with it.

Lenovo g550 built in webcam not working?

If it's an internal webcam, the one on the top of the LCD monitor, look for a key on the keyboard which has a webcam picture on it,usually between F1-F12,but not always
If it's an external webcam, that connected to USB ports, open the device manager
Right click on My Computer and select properties, then click on the Hardware tab and click Device Manager, expand the
Universal Serial Bus Controllers by clicking on it,and see if there are any USB device that has "?" sign on it. If there are one, right click on the device and select uninstall, uninstall it and then restart your computer, when the computer turned on,the driver will reinstall automatically
Please let me know if it's works or not and thanks for using fixya

I have a acer with the acer crystal eye webcam built in it. do it have a microphone with it. if so how do I get it to work?

The Acer with crystal eye webcam will also have a built-in microphone. The webcam is in the center at the top of the screen. The built-in microphone is typically half-way between the edge of the screen and the webcam. It is a little opening with a microphone logo beside it. You can test both audio input with the built-in microphone and the audio output with the built-in speakers by doing the following....
1. click start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices
2. in the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties click the Voice tab, then click the Test hardware button
3. in the Sound Hardware Test Wizard window click the Next button, if required, click unblock...
4. speak into microphone to do the Microphone Test. Recording meter will show movement if it works.
5. click Next button to do the Speaker Test. Microphone input is now output on the speakers.
6. click Next button when finished doing the readings and click Finish to close the wizard.

Cant turn my built in webcam on??

Hi,

This is known Webcam issue in DV6000 notebooks. To resolve or narrow down the issue, we have to check few things.

First open Device Manager.

Please follow these steps to open Device Manager:

1. Right Click on 'My Computer' icon on Desktop and choose Properties.
2. The System properties Window opens.
3. Click Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.

Expand + Imagining Devices and check if the HP Webcam is listed under it.

If Webcam is not listed there, then you have to contact HP to get the BIOS update.

If it is listed there, right click on it and select Disable. Again right click on it and select Enable.

Now open any applications like Quickplay and check if Webcam is working or not.

Please reply me if that won't resolve the issue, I can provide more work arounds
