Bad chipset. Possibly a failed solderpiont. More than likely a bad chip. If the set is relatively new, get it repaired, shouldn't be too expensive. Figure 200 or so.

know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've described
can't be fixed with troubleshooting. Your TV will have to be repaired.
There is a part that has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. Normally it will cost at least $75 to have the
set looked at by a repair shop (diagnostics). If the part needed to
complete the repair is available, that money will apply towards the labor costs.

if the convergence went out all of a sudden you most likely need to change the convergence ic's but you need to be careful on where you get them as there are lots of places online that say the ic's they sell atr originals as the cheap Chinese or the knockoffs will sometimes make things worse but if you use originals you should not have too much trouble there is a link I will leave you to get an complete convergence repair KIT at

Possible that the lamps are out of alignment resulting in poor convergence of the image.
You might have tto use a test pattern to see if this can be corrected or if this is the fault if the convergence section.

If you have tried to adjust the convergence on your TV within the menu feature then typically you do have a convergence problem. Check out this video to be sure...
TV. Convergence was all out of whack. I purchased a repair Kit from www.TvRepairKits.com. The kit had all the parts and simple step by step pics of the repair. I cant thank them enough for making this possible . At first the repair did not work so I emailed them and within an hour they told me to check two other items. Sure enough they were right! The set is now working perfectly. 39 views
