Why has the text stopped working on my BT youview box

Recommend internet speed is minimum of 3mega bits per sec.

You might need to reset the remote control if the codes don't work.

If you've got the BT YouView remote that came with the box (with the 'BT Vision' button on it), hold down the two buttons either side of '0', whilst also holding down the power button for around 5 seconds. The blue light on the remote should flash three times to confirm it's successfully reset.

If you've got the retail YouView remote (with the 'TV' and 'PVR' buttons on it), press and hold the 'TV' button and the red coloured button at the same time for 5 seconds. The 'TV' and 'PVR' buttons should flash red 3 times to confirm.

Try your codes again after. I believe 4483 is the code in the setup guide.

In order to connect your TV - any sort - you need:-
1. A BT broadband package.
2. A BT YouView box.
3. A network connection to your HomeHub or other router.
If one of these is missing (or if your broadband connection is too slow) you will not be able to connect to BT TV.
If you have all 3, then on the TV select the signal source to the socket that the YouView box is connected to and it will be installed automatically.

I got my YouView box free when I signed up for BT Infinity (upgraded from standard broadband), and TV Essentials (replacing my BT Vision which had ceased). The link below will take you to a BT page which may help you,

Please bear with me as I do a little explaining since I've just got it sorted myself ! BTSport is available to anyone with BT Broadband, however you cannot get it on a normal TV. I have a YouView box and with BT Infinity I can BTSport1, BTSport2 & ESPN on my YouView box (Channels 507, 608, 509) played through my TV. My TV however will not pick up the channels. Just says they are "scrambled".They also appear to be available on Sky (channels 413, 414, 417) and Virgin (channels 547, 548, 529).
I strongly suspect that the only way to see these channels without a YouView box, Sky, or Virgin is on line through your computer.

You need to connect the box to your broadband!

Digitrex TVs have just one generic code for the BT Youview box. The code is 478.

Put BT box into standby. This is probably due to the scart connection. Try to connect both boxes via HDMI if possible.

Did you connect to the right channel ? Automatic or manual adjusted.
