How to decrypt a lost zip password

A ZIP file is a data compressin and archive format,it contains one or more files that have been compressed to reduce file size.It is useful when we have created a large of files. We can compress into zip format.

These days, people tend to set a password when compressing zip file. But life is busy ,after having a long time travel,we may find that we have lost our password sometimes. Now you will begin to search on the net,how can I open my zip file as I have lost my password. In case you may meet this occation, the following article will show you how to recover a lost zip password.

If you put a password on a zip file and then lose or forget it,you won’t be able to unzip the files to get access to the files inside of it.After you have searched the net,you may find there are many programs you can download that will help you recover the password to your zip file so that you can use your files.

But you may quite puzzle,as there are too many programs.Which is the better to recover lost zip password? Here is my experience on how to recover a lost password.Days ago,I also lost my password for zip file and I don’t know which software is better. When I have tried Zip Password Recovery 5.0. Awesome it took about 5-seconds to recover my password. If you need to recover a password greater than 3 characters .I hightly recommend this product.

Instructions
Step 1:Download the ZIP Password Recovery tool which can help you unlock the password in a zip file .If your password is greater than 3 characters you need to get a serial number from the offical website.

Step 2: Install it by opening the installation file and going through the installation process.

Step 3: Click on the "Open" button and when the browse window appears, find your ZIP file and double-click on it. Click on "Method of attack" or something with similar wording and choose how you would like the program to try to crack your ZIP file. For example, "Brute Force" will try random letter combinations, and "dictionary" will try words from a dictionary.

Step 4: Click "Start" when ready and the program will begin trying to find your lost ZIP password. Depending on the type of attack you chose, this could take quite a while. If the attack is successful, you should be informed of what the password is, and you can then use it to open your ZIP file.

WHEN I TRY TO LOG IN MY VISTA ITS SHOWING INVALID PASSWORD OR USER NAME. HOW DO I LOG IN?

  • Access the Internet from another computer that has a CD burner installed. If you have other user accounts on the main computer, you can attempt to log in to those accounts just to get to the Internet.
  • Step 2 Download Ophcrack, a highly rated free password cracker for Windows. The website has been included in the References section at the end of this article. For easy access, download the file to the computer's Desktop. You will be downloading the ISO image of the program which can be burned onto a blank CD-R.
  • Step 3 Insert the blank CD-R CD. Select the ISO image of Ophcrack that you just downloaded, and right click on the item. Select 'Burn' from the drop down menu. If a burn program opens, click Burn Disc to burn the program to the CD-R.
  • Step 4 Remove the burned disc, and go back to the original computer that you are locked out of. Turn on the computer, and immediately insert the disc into the CD-ROM drive.
This will allow the computer to boot from the CD-ROM. You may be prompted in DOS to boot from the CD-ROM, select "Yes."
  • Step 5 Allow Ophcrack to run; it will run automatically and display the administrator and user password on the screen as it recovers them. Write down the passwords, and wait for the program to finish.
  • Step 6 Remove the burned disc, and restart the computer. Allow the computer to load to the sign in screen, and enter the newly recovered password. You should have full access to your Administrator account once again.

Lost password to Windows 7, XP, Vista, 2000, 2003 ?

    1) Hope you learn from your mistakes for the next time. Write the password down and put it in a safe place... and remember where you put it. Or better yet, use a password that makes sense to you... Or the best of all, create a Password Reset Disk (details abou this here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305)

    2) The "brute force" alternative: Re-install Windows from its installation CD/DVD (which I hope you didn't lose too). This will erase all programs and files you have in your computer. You'll need your Product Key (you have this, right). You may want to try to do an "update previous instalation" (which will keep your programs and files), but it may not remove the password at all.

    3) Get a password recovery tool (for free, if possible). Many Windows versions (especially XP) do not like if you just 'delete' the password from an account, like some programs can do. If you do this you may lose access to many files and programs. This a security feature embedded in Windows.

    a) Ophcrack: This Windows password cracker is by far the best free Windows password recovery tool available. It's fast and easy enough for a first time password cracker with a basic knowledge of Windows.
With Ophcrack, you don't need any access to Windows to be able to recover your lost passwords. Simply visit the site, download the free ISO image, burn it to a CD and boot from the CD. The Ophcrack program starts, locates the Windows user accounts, and proceeds to recover (crack) the passwords - all automatically (access to files and programs will be kept, so you will regain full access to the computer).
In a test on a Windows 7 PC, Ophcrack recovered the 10-character password to an administrator account in 40 seconds. Ophcrack supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.
Download Ophcrack from here (choose the correct OS): http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/download.php?type=livecd

    b) Offline NT Password & Registry Editor: This one works basically by erasing your Windows password instead of recovering it (ths is where you can lose access to some files and programs). You can then simply log in to your account without entering a password.
Like Ophcrack, you boot to a burned CD created with the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor ISO file.
If you like this "password deleting" strategy then I highly recommend this program. Offline NT Password & Registry Editor works basically the same way as PC Login Now, but this program is free.
I tried Offline NT Password & Registry Editor on a Windows XP PC and it worked immediately without problem. It should work equally well with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, and Windows NT.

There are some other utilities out there, but finding FREE ones that actually work is time consuming. I'll post them here as I can.

    Forget windowxp password

you can search for a password boot disk which will disable the administrator password.

There are dozens of these types of programs but one program I recommend is windows password reset 6.0
    http://www.resetwindowspassword.com

Download the iso file and burn it to a disk to create the boot disk, that simple.

Configure your pc or laptop to boot in the cd drive,

Insert the CD and it would boot then just disable the password and restart.

Took about 5 minutes for the whole process.
