Take Three: I have an older Maxtor Hard DriveTake Two: I have an older Maxtor Hard Drive (Model 90645D3). I need to transfer some files from it (Win98SE) to new hard drive (WinXP Pro). I asked earlier and someone kindly answered and sent a picture that implied if I set the jumper shunt on pins #3 and #4 of the 10 pin jumper block that'd set it MoreTake Two: I have an older Maxtor Hard Drive (Model 90645D3). I need to transfer some files from it (Win98SE) to new hard drive (WinXP Pro). I asked earlier and someone kindly answered and sent a picture that implied if I set the jumper shunt on pins #3 and #4 of the 10 pin jumper block that'd set it in the needed slave mode. Well, first I only have pin #4-no #3. I tried that and it booted up in Win 98. Same w #1 & #2, #5 & #6, as well as not installing the shunt on any pins. Puting the shunt on pins #7 & #8 as well as #9 and #10 (where it was on old computer) it does boot up as Win XP Pro but it does not show the old hard drive at all under ''my computer''. Any help? How do I set the old drive to slave? Thanks p.s. On the old drive's label it says: ''Jumper J50'' and ''Master/Single On'', and ''Slave Off''. I read the answer to another question similkar to mine. Can I connect the old hard drive to new computer's power and using old computer 40 pin IDE ribbon connect old hard drive to the secondary IDE port on new computer (where my floppy drive is connected currently)? Taking off the jumper...and not doing anything with the new hard drive? Thanks.
