Make sure you use appliance black paint. But before you remove and paint the handles, compare the color for color match- not all black are exactly the same. Color can differ with brands.

Mr....other than repainting, the only suggestion I have is one of those scratch repair kits that they sell at Pep Boys. The finish materials...paints...not stainless...are about the same as used on cars. Use a soft lambswool bonnet buffer and go slow.
If it is stainless...use 00 steel wool in a one directional sweep with a little bit of light oil.

I had this problem with the bottom freezer door of my Amana.
What I did was slide off the entire door handle by applying pressure pushing toward the right to get the handle off. Once the handle was off, I slid the clip (which was still clipped on to the door) off and screwed it back on to the handle. Once the clip was tightly secured to the back side of the handle, I carefully slid the handle bar back on to the door by sliding it to the left back on to the door clips until it clicked securely back into place.

To tighten the screw the first step is to remove the handle. With this model just pull straight up on the handle. It can take a little force but after it finally unclips it moves up an inch or two then pulls straight out. Good luck!

u could always set the handle in place where it needs to be and use caulk or super glue to go around the handle and that should help it stay in place if that doesnt work the website www.amana.com to see if it has warranty for the broken handle good luck
