There seems to be an incompatibility between the TV's setting and the antenna's input.
The TV doesn't see the antenna connection and keeps searching.
Somehow you have to get the TV's 'cable' setting in the menu to 'over the air'.
Is there a clean signal coming to the TV? Sometimes a cable can be compromised where the signal never reaches the input connection. Check both ends or at least replace the cable temporarily.
Last but not least, the TV maybe set to a PIP (secondary tuner with a picture in a picture) and the tuner is not electronically connected.

Programming channels for TV viewing?

You can often find the digital channel numbers for your local stations in a guide like http://www.titantv.com/ or https://tvschedule.zap2it.com/?aid=gapzap . Alternately, check if the local stations websites offer a link to their schedule. This will usually list the channel/channel digital identity. Another source for the digital channel numbers are the antenna choice/position/direction guides. Look at http://www.antennaweb.org or http://www.tvfool.com . Tvfool.com gives the direction and signal strength for all channel transmitters in your general area. Antennaweb.org is much more conservative and will only give the strongest stations in your area. That conservative list assumes an external antenna and clear path between the transmitter and your antenna.

In my area, the analog channel 7 became digital channel 7-1 . However, the channels 12 and 16 now transmit at 43-1 and 46-1 . However, after letting the TV do the auto-search, they are 12-1 and 16-1 when I type in the channel numbers on my remote.

I hope this helps. I might be able to provide a list of your local digital channels if you add a comment with your general location.

Trying to program memorex dvd. cant find code, HELP!

Hello
The manual of the remote control you speified here contains no codes lited. But there is a possiblilty to find out the code by search method. If the device you wants to control with this remote control has codes stored in the remote memory, you can exit it by code search method.

Code Search By Brand.

Lets you search for a code for a specific Brand within

the Code Library for a particular manufacturer.

1. Turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.

2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red

indicator remains on, then release SETUP button.

3. Press and quickly release the desired mode button

(TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks off once.

4. Press and release the numeric button (0-9)

corresponding to desired Manufacturer (see table on

code list sheet). The red indicator blinks off once.

Note, pressing "0" performs a full library search same

as normal Code Search Method on previous page.

5. Press the CHANNEL UP button ((or POWER or

PLAY (VCR only)) repeatedly until the device to be

controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks

off with each button press. If you accidentally

overshoot the code required, press the CHANNEL

DOWN button to backtrack through the library until

the device changes channel. Pressing CHANNEL

UP changes direction to forward again.

6. Press and release MUTE to install the code.

Brand Search Method entry is now complete.

Note: When all codes under a Brand have been searched
the red indicator flashes rapidly for 3 seconds.
Try this. Good luck.

Hello
Your Philips CL 034 model remote control should work with almost all models of Emerson TV. Codes to check with are

0002 0502 0006 0115

0506 0706 0520 0906 0316

0505 0614 0324 0924 0626

0826 0027 0327 0128 0228

0632 0134 0247 0605 0705 0805

0703 0903 0004 0519 0106 0104
0304 0604 0804 0005 0105 0305

Be patient and check with these codes one by one, till you find the code for your Emerson model.
NB: Switch OFF and switch ON your TV set, with its front panel power control switch, before trying an other code.

No audio on tv channels but perfect on DVD playback etc

this looks very much like a problem I once 've had (and later found the solution by accident). When you go into the menu of the remote control and press the "automatic channel search" function you can always specify from which "source" the signal is arriving either 1, from antenna, (ie. over air) or 2, from cable or 3, from satellite. Then the decoder searches and finds a bunch of station in its reach. Once (while hooked up to an antenna) ,I had accidentally made it do the station search under the "cable" header instead of "antenna" and it found the same stations as the one's I've had before,(over antenna) but some stations suddenly had no more audio. Because I was unaware that the set was programmed under the cable header I could solve this strange mystery only much later when I reprogrammed it one day and it searched the stations under the Air-Antenna header, then suddenly all the stations were coming in properly, with good image and full audio. ------If this doesn't solve your problem then search under the menu of your set if at another part of it you can specify some other similar options like Antenna-Cable choice. I'm quite sure its easy to correct. good luck Alex
