Channels don't just disappear. Re tune your TV and the channels will be reinstated. if those channels do not get a signal, some TV automatically skip them. Your Instruction Manual should say this.

Do an auto-retune, and check. If it do not help you, contact any service technician. The main system control IC might need replacement. It is not a user repairable work. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Try one of these: 1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 or... 2. http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip or... 3. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. You'll see two items: - ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel) - ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel) Right click on each of them, and click Uninstal. Confirm. Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.
1. Select desired channel
2. Press " tuning memory" until "program" flashes
3. Press " preset tuning" up or down to select position 1-10
4. Press " tuning memory" again, flashing " program" disappears
5. Channel is now selected @ position 1-10
6. Find channel @ selected site by pressing "preset tuning" up or down
is this plugged into a cable boxs? have you tried it without a box? if its freezing momentarily its probably the Main board (Sony refers to it as the "A" Board
Not sure about Starview4 but this might give U an ideaSubject: Star View 3 The Box Super when channels discappear ;o)
1. Press menu then Factory Setting & Enter code 0000 to reset.
2. Exit to main menu & enter 1570 to get into the CASS SYSTEM & turn EMU on
3. Reinstall channels (Goto Installation, Cable network (try TW first & if no channels try NTL then C & W and so on - I'm with Virgin & used the setings for TW) & Voila ;o)
Nb: You may have to redownload channels so reconnect yr box to the computer & follow the link below
