Most likely it's a capacitor fault.

Google "Capacitor bulge" and then search Youtube for your make and model to see if anyone has done an instructional video. You'll need to be comfortable dismantling the TV and be able to use a soldering iron. If this isn't you then take it to a repair shop.

Vhs is stuck in machine. Won't play and won't eject.

There are any number of reasons why it won't play. The loading basket is jammed, the video tape has got tangled up in the mechanical section of the vcr or the loading gears are stripped. Unplug machine and remove top, [screws side and back] if the tape is spewed carefully remove by cutting it and clean tape particles, for any other problem have a technician check it out.

Can't get my vcr off auto. It keeps flashing and vcr won't shut off. Can't get to the menu long enough to see how to shut it off

Try unplugging the VCR for 20 seconds and plugging it back in. It probably will still flash because the clock needs to be reset but you should be able to turn it on and off.

Vcr not working

Hello!
Sorry to admit, but your VCR's signal processor is down. On screen display is generated by microprocessor, but video signal by different circuitry. Anyway, there is nothing you can do, except surrender to repair shop. Or, worst case scenario: buy another one. Even though I won't recommend to do so. "Modern" VCRs are cheap plastic toys, won't last too long, no replacement parts available, etc. If you have some technician's background, you may open the unit and look for "bloated" capacitors in power supply area or check electrolytic capacitors with "in circuit" capacitor checked, if you have one. If not: try to look for reputable repair shop, what stays in business for a while. there, still might be the people, familiar with VCR problems.
good luck with your project,
thanks,
Alex.

Power goes off when a cassette is inserted. Tried cleaning heads but it won't even run that. When power is turned back on the cassette is immediately ejected.

Good day!!!

Most common problems
  • VCR refuses to FF or REW and shuts off.
  • VCR shuts off entering PLAY or REC or at random during PLAY or REC.
  • VCR eats tapes.
  • VCR doesn't accept tapes or ejects them without cause.
  • Sound is wavery, fluctuating, or muddy.
The cause for all of these is very often a bad idler tire or other dirty, worn, or tired rubber parts

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC-48 and the tape door won't close along with a 32.11 error code.....HELP

Try these steps:

1. Open the tape cover fully until it clicks open.
2. Turn the camcorder on to "VCR Mode."
3. With the cover still open and the camera in "VCR mode," take out the battery.
4. Put the battery back in--out should pop your tape.

The vcr stopped working, tape goes in but won 't work. the dvd stills works.

Hi,
most likely a mechanical issue , look inside for anything laying inside the VCR section.
a piece of a label or a toy etc. if all looks well it could be a bad sensor , bad (dirty)mode switch
or sinply a jammed gear or arm.
a good way to check the VCR section is to turn the loading motor and see that it moves correctly
hope this helps

Hook up antenna to converter box then from that out to the vcr's input (red, white, yellow connections are better than coaxial).

SAFE

Pro-Tect Plus™ Locking Feature
To disable VCR usage or to protect set timer recordings, the unit can be locked so that the
buttons on the VCR or remote control don’t work.
• To Lock: Press and hold either the remote control’s ON•OFF or VCR button until SAFE
appears in the display to indicate Pro-Tect Plus is active. SAFE also appears if the VCR is
turned on while the feature is activated.
To Unlock: Press and hold either the remote control’s ON•OFF or VCR button until SAFE
disappears from the front panel display. Unlocking is the only way to use the VCR.
