The rails are probably dirty & full of grit, just get a cloth & clean the rails upper & lower. Oil the rails when finished with light machine oil only.

Hi, I have a HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 1515, and the printer keep making a grinding noise while printing something, does someone knows why?

Turn the printer on, and replace the cartridges if possible. If the carriage moves, but there is still a grinding noise, there may be a paper feed issue. If the carriage will not move, then it is a carriage stall issue.

I am receiving an error message on my HP Officejet 6110 printer screen that prevents the printer from functioning. The message is "Open door. Clear carriage jam and then press enter." I've tried opening...

yes, that is a carriage jam and not paper, the grinding is from the clean station that gets blocked with dried ink and cant move. you need to open the printer and clean the ink off of the clean station so it can clean properly and not cause a carriage jam.

Carriage problem with grinding noise

Your printers carriage belt has gone loose you are required to change it. I'd advise you to send it to an expert because changing of a belt in your ink jet is not feasible with guidence through text messages.

Grinding noise on startup

Problem The Resume light continues to blink after the paper jam is cleared.
OR
The carriage is stuck or making a grinding noise. Solution 1. Lift the top cover to the printer. 2. Turn the printer off and then on again. 3. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts. 4. Move the carriage towards the middle of the printer (this procedure may take a couple of tries to get the timing correct). 5. Take out the cartridges and close the top cover. Turn the printer back on! 6. Reconnect the power cord. 7. Open the top cover, reinstall the cartridges, and then close the top cover

Makes grinding sounds & usually prints blank

Try new toner cartridge, or even the old one if you still have it. Check if the grinding noises go away.
