If it was working before you wiped it either you don't have the correct wireless driver for the hardware in your computer or you need to set up your wireless configuration properly (network authentication, encryption etc) (or have you tried another wireless channel number?)

Hello, Lore.
Did you mean DWL-6510 or DWL-G510?
I have some comments for the last one; if it is not your PCI-card, I hope the solution is alike, at least.
My PCI-card is G510 version C and I recently posted a comment on a certain Internet Forum. See what I wrote:

First of all: D-Link simply mistreated all the costumers who bought version Cx.
The best thing to do:
1- Get the latest drivers from Australia site - www.dlink.com.au - (look for SUPPORT and not "quick find").
2- Specially for Win XP-SP3, try the USA site; you will need to follow this path because the update file is very hidden on the site: click support / FAQ / search for "G510 SP3" and see the answer for the only question that is there (so far); download the newest driver for SP3; this driver has no installer; you will have to use it as an update if you have already a driver installed (click "properties" and "update driver" on the device located at control panel / system / hardware); if you have no driver already istalled, you will have to do the opposite of DLink directions: install phisically the card before installing driver, click start / control panel / system / hardware and search for a "?" sign, click on it and provide it the downloaded driver.

Good luck!!

No association with access point

The first thing I would recommend is to try plugging the adapter into another laptop to see whether it, or your laptop, is the problem.
If it's OK on the other laptop, I would suggest un-installing the driver for the adapter, upgrade Windows XP to latest, downloading the latest driver from the Linksys website then re-installing the driver according to manufacturer's instructions.

Reinstalling the wireless adapter

vista have this problem...

first, switch off computer and remove physically card from the computer, then de-install all possible traces of it, run ccleaner and clean the computer as well as registry.
go to d-link site and download newest drivers for your adapter, and os (vista). unfold software to c:/dlink

switch off computer again, re-install card and re-power the computer.

when automatic software install start, select manual install, point to newly created folder c:/dlink and select appriopriate driver from there, install.

this procedure usually solves the problem, vista try to instal generic windows drivers not specific hardware drivers, to prevent occurence of that, disable automatic updates in vista, and once a month or so, do only and only security updates from windows, never, ever update your hardware drivers from windows as these are just generic drivers generating more problems than solving. hope this help.

D-Link WDA-1320 cannot find apsSearchInterface in wlanapi.dll

Hi,
There is only one best solution: Take your Windows Vista DVD and throw it in the nearest trash can available. Vista was Microsofts biggest failure to date and has been replaced by Windows 7 which is far more stable. Save yourself lots of future headaches and get rid of Vista.
Best wishes,

I'v put XP on my pc and now I can't get my wireless broadband to work

Hi, this is a common problem when one wipe there hard drive and reinstall an operating system, go to your common manufacture's website and download the driver for your wireless device and Ethernet controller. Recommendation: when ever you wiping your hard drive, also make a backup of your drivers by downloading them before you wipe. I recently wipe my computer, and i make sure i had all the device drivers before i wipe. Smile!
