How do i put the date and todays time on the fax machine.

Reset the printer to factory default settings, follow instructions exactly. you will be asked to select language, country or region code, date, time and fax number.
follow the above instructions exactly to set the date and time after the reset.
those details are in the fax machine not on the computer, they need to be set on the fax machine.
Follow these steps:
From the control panel, press FAX MODE.
Press Menu
Press < (left) or > (right) repeatedly until TOOLS appears
Press OK or CHECK
Press < (left) or > (right) repeatedly until DEVICE SETUP appears
press OK or CHECK
Press < (left) or > (right) repeatedly until DATE/TIME appears
press OK or CHECK
Enter the date using the keypad
press OK or CHECK
Enter the time using the keypad.
press OK or CHECK
if the hour you entered is 12 or less, Press < (left) or > (right) repeatedly until AM, PM, OR 24hr appears.
press OK or CHECK to save the setting.

the brand is Lexmark Series x5400. We are trying to put the date and time on it but we cant figure out how to do it. And wear reading the book. But actually its not helping.
We did what you said but it aint working. I bout this printer but I never used it. So sents yesterday we are trying to programe it. Sol is there a posibiliti to programe it inside the computer without touching tyhe fax machine. Do you think that's posible???.
