Ff8, my memory card formats, but when it saves it fails!

I had the same issue on 11 different cards.
(all were OLD)
I bought a new one and there was no problem.

Memory Card Error Messages

Fully Corrupt:
When the entire save area of the Memory Card becomes corrupt, the system will inform the player that the Memory Card is corrupt and offer to format it. The card must be formatted before gameplay begins or when the game attempts to access the Memory Card. The exact message may vary from software to software.

Suggestion: It is always a good idea to copy your most important files to a second Memory Card as a back-up.
Data Area Only Corrupt:
When only the data area of a Memory Card is corrupt (not the entire Memory Card) the game may not detect this until the Memory Card is accessed. Once it is accessed, the game will inform the player that the file being accessed is corrupt and must be erased. The game will only delete the one file being accessed and will not format the entire Memory Card (Other saved game files on the Memory Card may be OK).

Memory Card is Damaged:
If the Memory Card has been physically damaged, or has been damaged beyond repair, you will get this message. The Memory Card will need to be replaced. The system may attempt to format the card, but if it cannot it will give the error Memory Card is Damaged. There is no way to recover the game data from the memory card.

You need a PS1 Memory Card to save data from a PS1 game. You can not save FF8 to a PS2 memory card.

Check for a write protect switch. If the cad doesn't have one, you might have a problem with the connectors.

What you can do here first is to save all the data of your memory card to your computer and then after that format the memory card using the format option on your PSP....

this is a problem in your memory card,talk to any technician and ask him the problem,if he tell you that this memory card will not work you have to buy a new mwmory card

You can use Action Replay Max (AR Max) disc to format your ps2 memory card. Some case when you can't saving, that problem with memory port on the console. try to go Browser menu and then plugin your memory, you should see the memory icon.

PS1 memory card do not work with the PS2.You have to buy PS2 memory card to save for PS1/PS2 games using PS2 game consloe.

Sounds like the memory card became corrupted, beware of buying massive memory data cards for ps2 as the bigger they are the more chance of problems, sounds like you will have to get new card.

i think the memory card in damaged and should repair at any shops this is type of problem that cant be solved by yourself.....
