You should be able to use your remote control to do this.Your channel 73 is more than likely UHF 73 so you need to put your tv in the antenna setting rather than cable setting. Once you do this just input 73 with your remote. Hope this helps! Stargazer

SOURCE: plasma tv connections

Hi ,,
Ok First off your Plasma has 3 inputs , 1 ,2,3

Here is what i would have done and what you can do.

First of your recivers has RCA output, thats 1 yellow cable and 1 red and 1 white,

The red and white are audoi and the yellow is video

1.) Connect your dvd player to input 1 in your Plasma.
just follow the color codes, yellow to yellow, white to whit, red to red,

2.) connect the other Reciver to input 2
using the same method

3.) connect the dvd to input 3
using the same method..

So now if you want to view reciver1 you set the tv to input1, reciver 2, input2 , dvd , input 3

In the event that your tv does not have 3 seperate inputs

you can go to your locol electctronics stor and purchase an RCA switch box

this is a device that has 3 seperate RCA inputs, a switch to slect which one you want to use and an output to connect to the tv, Simply connect all your devices to the RCA switch, and then connect the rca switch to your tv..

There are other methods of doing the same thing, but i chose this one as its the most simple solution

let me know if you are having any problems

SOURCE: - SKY REMOTE CODES

I own a One-for-All universal remote (model URC-4220), and my booklet says the setup code for a Hitachi TV is either 0000 or 0145. If these numbers do not work, then I would buy a newer universal remote. They can purchased at Walmart for less than 10 dollars.

SOURCE: Tuning to pick up sky feed

Sounds like from discription the sky feed is set up for analog channel 6. With my TV-HVR-1600 card, there is an option in the wintv application when you click the menu button in the application that says channel suite. If you select this option, you should find and option for analog source. Select analog source in this screen and you should be able to manually add channel 6 in the box at the top of the analog souce screen. Also if you have the sky feed connected and you you click the scan button on this screen, it should detect automatically is the sky feed is on.

SOURCE: RCA Colortrak 2000 remote control

I called RCA's 800 number on the back of the owner manual--got a response that said to replace the unit since only the up-down channel changer buttons were not working. Using another remote (universal) now--cost only $5.

Will it work with analogue TV using scart and without old free view box

Depends what is on the satellite receiver. If there is a SCART connection, you can put it in your TV. As soon as the satellite receiver only has a HDMI, you can't connect them.
Be aware, that even digital receivers for analog TV receivers, with both, SCART and HDMI often not forward digital signals, because of copyright restrictions. Not even not copyrighted content.

Sky problem

Freeview has nothing to do with satellite. FreeSAT is the one that uses a satellite dish for reception. FreeVIEW is received through the aerial.

Also, don't fall for the "digital aerial" scam. I install aerials as part of my business. I've been to homes with aerials 20 years old, covered in soot from the chimney and they still pick up Freeview perfectly well. Equally, I've been to homes where the owner has bought some gold plated multi-finned "digital high gain" monstrosity that has awful reception characteristics.

If your TV aerial is okay, then just plug it in to your Freeview receiving TV and do the tuning.

If you do want Freesat then you will need a satellite dish along with a Freesat receiver.

Unscrew f connectors from LNB, and rewire to desired location, or tell sky to do it or you'll leave. They will put you through to retentions, but will end up sending someone out to do te job

Can i hook up an old tube type tv to a new high satellite dish? i dont care if i get high def picture just want a regular picture.

Yes there is an option for ouptuting 480i signal from most hd receivers. You will need to check the specifics for the satellite dish receiver as to the channel that the TV should be on as well as how to set it to the resolution that you need. (I know some Dish receivers need channel 60 for the SD TV (coax (RF) connection) when it is TV 2 but channel 3 or 4 for TV 1.) Also check your TV so that you can use the best possible input available.

However, you may not be able to read the closed captions unless you enable them on the receiver. (Apparently, the encoding has changed.)

The manuals for some satellite company receivers are on their website. For example, Dish network manuals are here: http://www.dishnetwork.com/supportsection/manuals . Their manual for the Solo VIP 211k describes connecting the receiver to a SD TV on page 91 (page 97 in the PDF version).

I hope this helps.

(I'm not aware of any satellite system that doesn't use a set-top box. If you do not have a receiver, then the above does not apply and you may not be able to get a signal.)

Unhooked all lines in back of tv cant remember to rehook up have2

granmabj,

There are common connections to each receiver but there are unique connections also depending on the receiver. Solo receivers have a coax cable coming from the Dish outside connected to Satellite In. Duo receivers and DVR HD receivers have the coax cable that comes from the dish outside that connects to Satellite 1 and Satellite 2 using a splitter. There is also a cable (coax, RCA (yellow, white, red) or component (green, blue, red - video, white, red - audio) or an HDMI if HD) connected from the receiver to the TV 1. For a duo receiver TV 2 may be backfed on the cable coming from the dish outside using diplexers. This may sound confusing but you can call 1-800-333-3474 for assistance.

HOW TO HOOK UP TWO SATELLITE RECIVERS THAT I HAVE LIKE MODEL 4000 DISHJNETWORK RECIVER I FOUND IN MY CLOSET AND MY NEW DISH NETWORK RENTED DVR 625 RECIVER HOW TOO HOOK BOTH OF THEM UP TO THE 3 CABLES AND...

Ok since you have A 625 it uses different technology than the 4000 in a sense but I will assume that whomever connected the 625 use a Dish Pro Plus LNB. You can verify this by going out to the dish and looking at the LNB which is the eyes if you will on the dish. The cover facing you will read DP Plus, or Dish Pro, Dish Network, or you may have nothing at all on the housing. You will want it to say DP Plus for the easiest install.
On this LNB there are three ports. You will only need the two on the left if looking at it so you can not read the housing. One of the ports will be connected to a line running to the 625 and the other to the 4000. The line going to the 4000 should not contain any breaks in it after the ground block if one was used. Once inside the house connect the line from the lnb for the 4000 to the back of the receiver. Conect the receiver to the TV and run a check switch. This receiver will go into a test of 1 of 38 if all connections are good. A 1 of 50 indicates a loss of signal somewher on that side of the install.

The 625 can utilize di plexers but that type of install is to detailed to go into straight away so we will connect it using a straight feed to TV2. Run the cable from the LNB into th room with the 625. Inside connect that line to a siver device called a seperator that came with the receiver and connect the two leads from it to the sat in ports on the back of the receiver. Connect a line to the Home distribution port on the back of the receiver and run it to the room with the second tv you want to have DVR in such as a mater bedroom etc.Connect the cable from the tv out port on the receiver to the tv. Power all devices on and run a check switch. This test should read 1 of 3 if all connections are good. A bad connection will read 1 of 38 on the receiver. A total absence of signal will stay at 1 of 1 for a longt ime brfore going to 1 of 38.

You will need to call dish and activate the 4000 rx since it has not been on the account for some time and will need a software update that they will send to it via satellite.

Other obstacles could arise and if they do let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Panasonic TX P50V10B Plasma TV

In order to get any of the Freesat channels, you need to connect a Satellite dish to your TV. If you have a Sky dish, you simply need to run an extra Cable from the LNB from the dish and connect to your socket on the back of your TV.
In order to get Freeview channels and Analogue channels, you need to connect a aerial to the back of the TV.
There is a menu option for the TV to start straight to the AV input (your Sky HD box). It is Menu > Setup > Other Settings > Power on Preference. Select 'AV' for your TV to start on Sky HD.
Also even if you have your TV to start on TV, when you turn on your Sky HD box, it should automatically switch to the Sky box.

You need to try and isolate the piece of equipment which is causing the problem.

You've already tried the aerial lead direct to the TV and this is OK.

Disconnect all scart leads and try the RF on its own.

Try the Aerial lead to video, then video to TV.

Try aerial direct to Sky box, then to TV.

Try just connecting the RF out from the Sky box to the TV (no aerial input), can you tune into a good channel 68 picture from the Sky box.

Then Try the VCR to the Sky box (no aerial input), see if you can tune into the VCR and Sky channel.
Hope that helps.......
