How do I get the handset to ring aloud-I've accidentally switched it of and \i'm missing calls.

The bell symbol has a line through it, and the handset doesn't ring, so I'm missing calls if I am away from the base. I turned it off accidentally, I've read the manual, but can find nothing to resolve the problem. How do I turn it on again. I do not need to alter the volume, just get the handset to ring so I can hear it

SOURCE: How does one get the handsets to record the new speed dial numbers on the base phone?

I'm pretty sure the speed dial numbers are programmed on a per-phone basis. Most people would not want changes on one phone's speed dial to effect the other phones. I know registering the handsets will not make a difference. If the cordless phone is working, it's registered to the base. This is required so your neighbor cannot buy the same phone model and use your phone line. In the old days cordless phones were permanently linked to one base but now you can get extra handsets on many systems and "register" the phone to work on your base.

SOURCE: ELBT595 Handset Not Turning On

Check the handset battery -- if there is a slight "bulge" on one side (ie: not COMPLETELY flat) then the problem is with the battery. I had that problem and had to order a new one. That said, I just installed the new battery, and while it now charges, the handset won't connect to the base unit. The base unit works (tried the speakerphone), but there is not connection between base and handset.

SOURCE: Handset Won't Connect to Base Station

OK sorry guess I was thinking you had 2 handsets.
My suggestion is go to the Uniden website and maybe see what they have there.

Maybe do a search on the Uniden site for that Automatic Digital Security Code thing, seems it would be easy to fix, just a matter of how....

In the meantime I'll do some searching and see if I can help and find a fix

SOURCE: i have an Uniden power max 5.8 GHz home phone but

Sounds like the handset needs to be re-associated with the base unit.

If the manual for the Uniden PowerMax manual on the FixYa website for manuals is not the correct manual, go to the Uniden website and locate the manual there.

I can phone out and everything but this phone doesn't ring! - Bell DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone

It could be as simple as: turn up the volume on that handset. If that doesn't work, go though the handset setup instructions again. You may have missed that step.

My phone has a bell shape symbol w a line slant thru it i have a powermax 5.8

I think that means your ringer is turned off. Have a friend call your phone to see if it rings. If it doesn't, check the settings for the ringer.

Model: kx-tg6641. Handsets are not ringing when somebody calling. During ringing there showing line thru bell at left bottom of the handset screen. Silent mode is turned off.

As per the display of your phone, I assumed that the bell is turned OFF that's why sound is not coming out from the speaker.

OK. Go to the handset direct command menu:

Press Menu
Enter code:
#238 (Silent mode 1=on 0=off)
Then Press 'Save'
To exit, press 'Off'

Other code that may help you:
#160 (0-6 Volume)
#161 (Tone)

Good luck!

Somehow I have a bell icon on the screen at the bottom left with the words OFF beside it and now the phone does not ring only the ring on the fax/printer. Thanks Margaret

Hi margaret, is there a ringer switch either on the phone handset, or is there an option in the the fax settings to go directly to print. The issue sounds fairly straight forward, somewhere the phone ringer, or the settings for the phone to ring has been inadvetently switched off. Some investigation shoud bear fruit

Phone rings once, but then stops ringing and I can't answer the call

If you have a landline, most likely you have a short in it. Not enough to kill line, but, when the 90 volts a.c. comes in to ring it jumps short. The short answers the phone.. It doesn't stop out going but can cause static. Check the line at the box outside. if bad there call your phone company, if good there, trouble is in house

T7316E - Phones just installed. None of them ring.

You need to ensure that the main bell is programmed to ring, also that the extensions are also programmed to ring as well. Also check that the ringer is switched on, on the base of the telephones. Also ensure your handsets to not go over the ren value permitted. Make sure the service is on the correct day service and not night service. Check that the handsets ring internally and ensure they are registered with the system. Ensure that the connections and wiring are also correct,
