The songs on my sansa are alllllllll bad tracks. its not a "protection problem" because it was never like that before! and where can i download the recoverymode url
This happened to my sister before, but 95% of the songs she downloaded didn't have artists. So she went on Windows Media Player and put all the artists on them and they played fine. hope this helps. :D

Try the following method to see what is on your Sansa e260
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
If you want to delete some or all of the files do the following:
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. Good Luck, I hope this helps
You have songs that may be protected or the wrong format for your device. delete the bad song and download another copy from a different source and try it. This is not to uncommon due to different file formats and protection in the song files When you rip songs from another device often some won't load or play in another device especially if they are paid for songs.
The bad track error just means you need to reformat the player, the database got corrupted somehow, no worrys, just reformat and reload, you should be good to go.
Have you tried updating the firmware. Even if it is the lastest edition, download the firmware manually and run the software.
Then format in Windows Media player.
Best Regards
Keith
