Re: cant find speed signal wire

Depending on your car, you may need a Metra CHTO-03 harness.

Just curious if the speed wire and reverse wire need to be hooked up before the dvd player will work. it is avn2454 for model or do you have any tricks that i can do if i cant find these wires in vehicle

Not 100% sure what you're asking. If you're talking about the wire that doesn't let you watch videos unless you're parked, just snip the end off, connect a ring terminal to it, and screw it down to some metal, just like with the ground cable.

AVIC-X910BT Destination Menu-Address isn't lit up. Can't put in an address. Settings isn't lit up can't change settings or enter address. What is the cause?

The only time a Navigation unit will grey out the ability to enter an address is if it thinks the car is moving. Check your connections. If you connected the VSS (vehicle speed sense) wire to a tachometer or generator signal then the unit is getting the same signal as if the car were moving.

I intall a bv9900 on a s10 and i try to add a ps3 thru aux in but i cant get the picute. The dvd say no image signal. Please help me

Make sure you are using the Aux Video in, should be a yellow RCA and make sure the Boss is set to Aux video or ext video and make sure the power is on on the PS3

The Boss manual should tell you exactly which wire with RCA is for external video input such as rear video camera, PS3, etc.

Is the park signal wire supposed to be hooked to the ground side or power side of parking brake switch? I'm trying to install a kvt 512 for a buddy, and the dvd player wont work with out the park signal.

If you want to by-pass the parking brake wire, here's how.
Most wiring harnesses have a solid orage wire for illumination of the radio2_bing.gif and also have an orange wire with a white stripe for dimming purposes. Most radios do not use this dimming feature. Connect the brake wire to this wire and your able to watch your movies whenever you want. All the wire is looking for is a signal. It cannot differentiate between a parking brake signal and a non-parking brake signal.

Pink wire whats it for, it on a pioneer avic-d2

The brake sensor wire (Lt Green) can be simulated with a toggle switch to ground.
The mobile navigation system is connected here to detect the distance
the vehicle travels. Always connect the vehicle’s speed detection
circuit or the ND-PG1 speed pulse generator, sold separately. Failure
to make this connection will increase errors in the location display.
To lighting switch terminal

Light green
Used to detect the ON/OFF status of the parking brake. This lead
must be connected to the power supply side of the parking brake
switch. If this connection is made incorrectly or omitted, certain
functions of your navigation system will be unusable.

This is connected so that the navigation system can
detect whether the vehicle is moving forwards or
backwards. Connect the violet/white lead to the
lead whose voltage changes when the shift lever is
put in reverse. Unless connected, the sensor may
not detect your vehicle traveling forward/backward
properly, and thus the position of your vehicle
detected by the sensor may be misaligned from the
actual position.
Note: When you use the ND-PG1 speed pulse
generator (sold separately), please make sure
to connect this lead.
When you use a rear view camera, please make
sure to connect this lead. Otherwise you cannot
switch to rear view camera picture.

I want to bypass emergency brake swicth for video to play all the time

it depends on what signal the video player is looking for
also it may not even be looking for the signal from the E brake
it may be looking for the speed sensor ect

but firstly what you do is
-get a voltmeter and detach the wire from the E brake to the radio
on the end that connects to the brake (brake>>> wire end) connect the voltmeter to the wire and then the other side to the metal point on a car (negative
apply the brake then take it off
what do you see when the brake is on

it will be either 12v or 0v

if the brake is 12v when it is engadged then

get the wire from the radio that attaches to the brake wire
and connect this wire to 12v temporarily and test it out and see if it works while driving

and its the oposite thing if it is 0v but make sure the tempory positive wire is detached

if E brake has no voltage change then its going to b trickier to do this

My amplifier has one pair of rca inputs. radio only has 1 output

Subwoofer signals should be MONO - not stereo (hence the single Component out on the radio)
Only use one RCA to send signal to your amplifier.

If you use a Y splitter - the signal voltage will be cut in half - deteriorating the quality, and therefore amplifying "dirty" signal.

No picture on tview dvd70ts

This is the best solution for your problem as a 40 year experience with wires etc. Go to the source of your cable signal connector . Open it and clean the terminals with emery paper , sand the end of the cable shiny clean from corrosion , get a new barrel connectors with gold terminals if possible lengthen the ends of the cable , insert and tighten good, use thick rg-16 or rg 40 cable with good insulation ends crimped professionally with a crimpier or buy ready made , not from dollar store. Get a gold plated professional splitter if you need one or two , it will cost about 15 or more each . Make the cable runs as short as possible, using the thick good cables. If needed get a signal magnifier. From radio shack or the source etc. Connect them good and tight . Ground the splitters . Problem solved , you will get crystal clear channel 2 to 7 including 3 and 4 . Isolate the TV cable from other cables and power wires. Vitally
