Lp70 flickers and color wheel chirps at the same time. It's worse with more white in the image. Colored screen shots or dark movies have limited flickering. No issues prior to hookup to computer (Infocus blue screen). Only 8 hours on unit. How do you increase refresh rate as commented in another question (if that's the fix)?

It's chirping because it's trying to keep in sync with the dmd chip. for the refresh rate, go into the menu and first reset the settings to factory default. if this doesn't clear it up, try matching the signal.

InFocus LP70 color problem

try resetting the settings to factory default through the menu. if there's still a problem, take the cover off. if you look from the back of the machine, inside on the bottom left, you'll see the main board attached by a large white plug. use something thin and non-metalic to push the bottom of the board towards the plug to tighten it. now do the same to the other side of the plug. this should solve it. if it doesn't, you need to replace the main board.

The picture on my 2 yr old Toshiba 42hm66 DLP tv starts flickering and with alot of rainbow looking distortion after an hour of veiwing. I replaced the lamp, but it sill has the probelm. Any idea what...

I hope this helps you but you might wanna look into some other posts too cause it goes farther then the lamps and color wheels. Basically it's a bad product and the consumer should be fixing it. But your problem seems to be the color wheel. Or just a good cleaning. We replaced the lamb in ours and still had a color problem. We're gonna do an exstensive cleaning and dusting of our unit and if it don't work. We're going straight to the manufactor. This is enough with this product! It's costly to repair and still don't have the quality picture it should. It's more then a simple fix and too costly for ppl to just fix and move on. For how old these products are this all should not be happening.

could be an intermittant connection on the picture tube curcuit board,or a bad picture tube, a bad flyback xformer,or a bad b+ capacitor off the flyback that controls the driver transistors on the crt board. Good Luck
