my pc is not showing my 500gb iomega external at all,in device manager syas all is working correctly

i have an iomega 320 gig external hd. went to plug it in one day and my pc said it couldn\'t read any of the files. i can still see thumbnails and view photos but can\'t transfer any data at all. please help as i stupidly put all my files on this drive. about 10 years worth of work.
