Can you tell if the gas is flowing? Its either dirty or perhaps your regulator got damaged.  I'd check that out.  Above all else, though, be careful!

SOURCE: Weber Silver B grill

I bet your grill gets no hotter than about 300 with the lid closed?

The tank has a built in safety feature. If a burner is left on when you open the valve on the tank, or turned on too soon immediately after opening the valve on the tank, the flow will be restricted. You need to turn all burners off, close the tank valve, disconnect the tank, reconnect the tank, open the tank valve, waqit a few seconds, open the burner valve and light. You'll get unrestricted flow and much better heat.

How to clean weber performer ignitor or gas nozzel

If you can light it with a match or lighter, the gas nozzle is working fine. You may have to replace your igniter. My Performer has the same problem, so I suspect the original igniter is a piece of cr*p. You may want to look into an aftermarket replacement. Of just use a fireplace lighter like I do.

My back burners wont light but my front two will genesis silver edition

If the Cross Over Tube/Burner is clogged, the ignition flame can't get to the last 2 burners to light them. To check this, light the front 2 burners using the ignitor button and try match lighting the back burners. If they match light, that indicates that the Cross Over Tube is clogged. You will need to remove it to clean it properly. Which can be a chore in itself. Be careful removing it, because if it's rusted, it may break.

Hope this helped you, Kevin and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have provided 2 links for you. One is the Assembly Manual for the Genesis B 330
and the other is the Owners Manual. Both should prove invaluable to you, in replacing the Ignitor Button. You can download and print each manual for future reference.

Replacing the crossover ignition system in my weber genesis silver b grill. it has a propane tank. the small metal cover over the spark ignitor has rusted out.

What you're referring to is called a Collection Box. It traps gas so it will ignite. You can purchase a new one directly from Weber or from Appliance Factory Parts http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/

Hope this helps you get the part you need. Happy Grilling!!

I installed a new 7509 ignitor on my 13 year old weber genesis gas grill and the gas does not ignite when pushing the ignitor button. I installed the ignitor with the box opening on the bottom and checked...

If the spark you see is in the ignitor box and not at the burner(s), then there's a wire loose somewhere or the ignitor is not grounded properly. Also check to see if the ignitor tips in the grill next to burner(s) are covered with grease. If so, clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. Check each ignitor wire at each ignitor , make sure they are secure,

My grill became hard to light & now will not light. I took it apart and cleaned it & noticed that the box around the igniter is all coroded away. How does this get fixed?

In the case of your grill's ignitor control box, it will have to be replaced. You can order one online. directly from Weber. Just be sure that you have the Model # & Serial # available. It's an easy replacement to accomplish. The new ignitor control box will come with the instructions or you can find them in your Owners Manual.

The electronic ignition on my grill no longer sparks to ignite the gas. I replaced the battery and cleaned the contact points but there was not any improvement. Can the entire assembly be replaced?

Yes you can replace the entire assembly.
However you can try adjusting the spark gap to see if this will resolve the issue.
Heat will often expand the spark gap thus rendering a spark impossible.
Small adjustments and be careful not to break the ceramic insulator.

Many gas grills use a static ignitor that does not require a battery.
Big red button you push that causes a snapping noise. This makes a spark and lights the gas. These can last quite a long time and inexpensive too.

Good luck!
