Hello there, there are tons of Genesis Silver grills. But usually the assembly procedures are the same. Here are 2 links to assembly instructions
Assembly 1
Assembly 2
Although the files would need to be printed out to make proper sense to you just follow the precedures as they are numbered.
To get the owners manual determine the exact model number for your unit and Download from here your unit should fall under the silver/ gold/ platinum series.

Yes you can replace the entire assembly.
However you can try adjusting the spark gap to see if this will resolve the issue.
Heat will often expand the spark gap thus rendering a spark impossible.
Small adjustments and be careful not to break the ceramic insulator.

Many gas grills use a static ignitor that does not require a battery.
Big red button you push that causes a snapping noise. This makes a spark and lights the gas. These can last quite a long time and inexpensive too.

Good luck!

The most likely problem is that food drippings have clogged some of the pin-hole gas outlets in the burner tubes. If those are clean and open, then either your propane tank is not releasing the gas or the controls on the grill are not releasing the gas. If you look at the flame level, probably best done with the flavorizer bars removed, and they are all the same with the controls on high, then it it probably the tank valve. If the flame heights are different, the lower one(s) are the ones where the control valve(s) are not working and need to be replaced. Good luck!

Hi there.
Try to replace first the valve, it probably broke down when you finally turned it from stuck up position.
Regards.

Under the control panel, to the right of the cooking box is a sticker with model numbers, serial numbers, BTU rating, etc. It is not easy to find or read. I used a flashlight and read the numbers out loud for someone to write them down. The first 2 letters of the serial number are the date code.

I'ts the same today as it was back then. They still use porcelain enamel. Not paint. A couple of things that could ease your mind. Paint has like a kerosene smell to it. Also, drop a chunk in water for a few days, paint will not dissolve in water.

I just read this online and it worked for me. Hope you have similar luck.

Newer propane tanks contain a self regulating feature that will automatically slow down the flow of fuel if it thinks it's too high. This can be solved by turning the tank valve off completely and disconnecting it. Open the control valves (on the grill control panel) and ten close them. Reconnect the fuel tank and slowly turn on the valve. Now light the grill to see if that fixes it.
