Are feed dogs supposed to be up or down w/ embroidery brother LB6800

Well... the manual doesn't say to lower the feed dogs before installing embroidery unit, but carriage operation is likely no different then free motion which requires feed dogs lowered. So I'd say lower feed dogs.

I didn't find exact model but following is what the Brother site gave me for LB6800...

My brother sewing machine LB 6800 is showing FO5 speed sensor error what can I do to fix it

You may need to get the sewing machine serviced; the repair must be handled as if you are fixing a computer. The F05/F5 error indicates a problem with the timing shutter, the PCB board or the wiring between them.

If you are going to try this, first unplug the machine and check the wiring. Next clean the timing shutter if the wiring is undamaged. Replace the timing shutter if the error recurs. If the machine still gives the F05 error, the PCB board has to be replaced.

Some of the parts for the Brother LB6800 are here: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/brother-lb6800-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?sort.ss_cat_sort=desc&index=157.

I hope this helps.

My Bernini 830 would not recognize the embroidery attachment. I re-attached many times, but it doesn't work.

I assume you mean a Bernina 830. If you have removed the slide-on table, I have two possible solutions. I've seen this with a couple of Viking embroidery attachment units. (I am also assuming it's not a hoop issue.)

You could have corrosion on the pins that send the signals between the embroidery attachment and the sewing machine. Remove the embroidery attachment and turn off the sewing machine. Unplug the sewing machine. Spray the pins with an electronic contact cleaner; one example is here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/CRC-QD-11-oz-Contact-Cleaner-02130-6/202262505 . Push the embroidery attachment into the sewing machine by lifting up the far side and then sliding it into the port. Remove the embroidery attachment. Repeat this a few times. (The friction of the insertion and removal will remove any dirt or corrosion.) Plug in the sewing machine and turn it on. Try connecting the embroidery attachment. If it works, remember to clean the contacts the next time the embroidery attachment isn't recognized.

Once I helped someone with two sewing/embroidery machines with an unrecognized embroidery attachment. In that case, the person swapped which embroidery unit went with which machine. The contacts were not the same and didn't mate. Once the correct machine and embroidery unit were paired, the embroidery unit was recognized instantly.

I hope this helps. If it doesn't, you may need to talk to your Bernina repair technician at your local shop.

Do feed dogs drop automatically on SE-400 when embroidery unit is attached?

Yes they should unless the tab on the middle of the embroidery unit is broken.

Brother PE770 Hoop size programming stuck on small hoop option

Your machine would be able to perform 5 X 8 embroideries. The hoop size on this machine is recognized by the machine itself, depending of the embroidery file size. So it the embroidery is small, it will indicate that the small hoop is needed.

But U can use the large hoop, position the embroidery where U want then perform another embroidery on the sams hoop.

TRICK : the embroidery size exceeds the hoop? reduce it in X and or Y using this function on the machine

I have a Brother Ult 2001 and I was right in the middle of monogramming a towel using the large frame when I ran out of bobbin. I took the frame out and changed the bobbin and when I returned the frame to...

My friend just had this problem a couple weeks ago. Here's what we did. We cleaned the bobbin case with canned air lightly. We turned the machine off and disconnected the embroidery unit. Turned the machine on without the embroidery unit and ran a straight stitch. Then we turned it off, reattached the embroidery unit and touched another design of a different size. Attached the hoop without fabric just to see if it would "take it" and it did so we put the right size hoop back on and selected the design we were on originally and it worked. Some times these machines are just "touchy" and don't let you do something and after a "rest" they're ok. I hope this works for you.

Using a Brother ULT 2003 embroidery machine. In the middle of embroidey design if I stop machine the button to restart the machine stays red and I get the msg to "attach the embroidery frame"...

The solution is to take it to an authorized Brother dealer. It sounds like either something wrong with your embroidery hoop sensors, or more likely something is wrong with the brain of your sewing machine. Hopefully after all this time you've done just that. I'd hate to think of a ULT just sitting around collecting dust.
