I keep getting "check and rethread the upper thread" error message

Hi....I also kept getting the check and rethread upper thread message, I\'d sew about 15 stitches and it\'d stop. Here\'s what I did. On the left of the machine, in the back there is a screw....loosen that screw, take cover off, then lift straigt up and out on the cover that has the 3 on it in your threading seqence. Next, I started inspecting and cleaning the thread route from top to bottom. Lo and behold....I get to the place where you come down the front of the machine and turn to go back up and I spot a little slit in the plastic piece so, when I was threading the machine I guess I was pulling it to far to the left causing it to wear a little slit in that piece....so, I finished cutting it off with a utility knife, used an emery board to smooth it down, put the covers back on and it works GREAT!!!! Who would\'ve ever that it\'d be so easy and save me a bunch of money!!! I sure hope this helps someone.

How to replace spool pin on brother se 350 sewing machine

Is this a chromed metal shaft that stick straight up? IF SO, the broken piece can be PROBABLY be unscrewed using pliers. Then you have the thread size, the piece, that you can take to a hardware store and get a long blot this the same threads. The part can probably be found on the internet using google.com or on eBay. 92results for Brother sew spool pin

Board bernina 1030

As you will have noticed, you cannot open the end of a Bernina 1030. There are two light bulbs on this machine, visible on either side of the needle bar and presser foot shaft. Viewed from the rear of the machine, you can see the one on the right but the one on the left is beneath a transparent plastic cover that slides out easily (but does not come right out). board-bernina-1030-yfctketow5dlawzorpkxttl4-1-3.jpg To remove either of the bulbs, which are a bayonet fit, open the accessories box attached to the rear of the machine and take out the screwdriver tool from the top row, on the left hand side by the bobbin storage. One end of the screwdriver is a screwdriver (!) and the other end has a plastic tube - this is designed to grip the bulb. board-bernina-1030-yfctketow5dlawzorpkxttl4-1-6.jpg Place the plastic tube on the end of the bulb, push a little and rotate anti-clockwise about a quarter of a turn to release the bulb. The bulbs are both 6 Volts, 4 Watts. board-bernina-1030-yfctketow5dlawzorpkxttl4-1-10.jpg

How do I adjust the tension on brother SE-350?

Before you go adjusting tensions, make sure your upper thread is threaded properly. Always thread with the presser foot in the UP position so the thread can slip easily between the tension discs. Also make sure there are no wraps around the thread spool spindle. Be certain that you have the bobbin properly inserted as well. Once you are absolutely certain that there is no issues is threading. The tension is adjusted by a wheel on the top of the machine. Left to loosen, right to tighten the tension.

Can you change the port where the embroidery card attaches on a Brother SE-350?

Hi Marla, If your machine supports a USB connection to your computer, you may be in luck getting designs to and from your machine. In the meantime, the bent pins may cause issues, but if there a standard USB cable A to B (printer cable) available you may try that. If I recall there will be some settings to check but that is another way to get designs in and out of the machine. Cheers, Kelly San Diego, CA EmbroideryServices

The thread keeps jamming under the feed dogs. The

I had the same problem and tried everything you did: rewinding the bobbin, checking to be sure I had the bobbin in correctly, checking the upper threading, readjusting the tension. When nothing I tried helped, I bit the bullet and took it to the shop where I had bought it. The timing was off; there were burrs on the bobbin case; the hook was not performing correctly;there were threads caught between the tension disks. It cost about $65 but when I brought it home, it purred like a kitten! I suggest you take it in for a check up! Especially if you've tried all the usual tests and none of them worked.
I'm sorry I couldn't give you a do-it-yourself answer but sometimes they've just gone beyond what we can do for them.

My bobbin keeps bunching up.

Put the tension back up to about 5. Rethread the machine entirely, and make sure you have the pressure foot in the up position when you rethread. If your getting bunching on the bottom, it's probably your top thread that's bunching up. After you rethread, put a small piece of fabric under the pressure foot, lower the pressure foot, and turn the handwheel in the forward direction and watch the thread as it comes around the bobbin case. If it goes around smoothly, try it with the foot control. If it hangs up as it goes around the bobbin case, you might have a burr on the black plastic bobbin case. Take it out, check for any burrs, sand them down, and try again.
