If the rotating brush doesn't turn, then it's almost a certianty that the belt (which connects the rotating brush to the motor pulley of the vacuum) is either horribly stretched or just plain broken. Either way, it needs to be replaced. The correct Hoover belt part # for your vacuum is 38528040 (changed from the original part number of 38528027). This is a very common Hoover belt, but would recommend your best source as being a local, independently-owned vacuum dealer dealer (as opposed to a deprtment / big box store, both of which carry very limited belts).

Where is belt located on Hoover wind tunnel vacum. And how to replace it. My brushes are not spinning.

Its usually located underneath the body of the unit, turn it upside down and you should see the beater brush. You need to open the bottom cover to get at the brush and drive belt.

Hoover steamvac 50 stopped spinning

Hi! The brushes can stop spinning if something is obstructing them such as carpet fibers, hair, dirt or debris. Remove the brushes from the cleaner by grasping the plastic outer housing and pulling firmly away from the cleaner. Remove any debris and run it under running water to clean. On the back of the brush-block assembly there's a plastic drive pin that rotates all the brushes when turned. Turn the drive pin and ensure that all brushes are making a complete 360° degree turn. If the brushes are getting stuck or if a brush falls out then the brush-block will need to be replaced. Follow the link here to order a replacement brush-block for the Steamvac Search Results. Below is a list of models this brush will fit.
F5912-900, F5914-900F5915-100, F5915-900, F5915-905, F5917-900, F5918-900, FH50041, FH50042, FH50043, FH50044, FH50045, FH50046, FH50047, FH50048CA
Hope this helps!

The brush bar isn't going round ?

your problem seems to be the belt has snapped. Underneath the the hover there is a rubber belt that connects around the brush bar and around the motor, this belt will be broken. They can purchased from any hoover shop for a couple of pounds.

Where is the belt housed on the Hoover vacum cleaner model U5461-900? The belt number is 38528-033 but I can't find where the broken belt is to replace it.

Simply lay the machine down with the brush assembly facing upwards, and remove the four screws holding the bottom plate in place, and remove it. Put the new belt around the motor shaft, then around the brush assembly and push the brush back into place. Turn the brush with your fingers before replacing the bottom plate, to be sure the belt isn't caught between the brush and housing.

Rotating brushes don't spin.

Turn it over and pull out the brush holding assembly and insure that the master brush's stem is not broken off in the socket. The socket is geared to the vacum operated turbine that powers the brushes. There is the air input located next to the brushes and the filter might be clogged. If no air is being sucked into this red filter then it will have no vacum to turn the brushes. Insure that the flap is not closed behind the input filter. The flap is controlled by the brushes on selector switch.

I have a Hoover carpet cleaner - Model # f7441-980. My brushes do not rotate.

There is a plastic piece on the back of the block brush (spin scrubbers) these wear out or break. You may need to replace the block brush. You can find the parts and a schematic below follow the link. Please don't forget to give positive feedback.

Hoover Steam VAc carpet Model F7425-900

Take out the brush block, make sure that the shaft is ok, it goes up into the turbine, which is what drives the brushes. If the shaft is ok, then the turbine either needs to be cleaned and lubed, or replaced.

Did you clean both filters? There is one on the tank and the other is from the bottom, it ha a red frame, pull it out to clean. Pull the brush block out, is the shaft that goes up into the machine broken off? If so replace the brush block. While it is out, trn the machine on and see if the square hole up where the brush block goes, is turning. If not then the turbine has gone bad. You can sometimes clean the turbine out, otherwise replacing it may be the best option.

Hoover turbo vac 5200

Pull out the brush block, do the brushes turn freely and is the shaft that goes uo into the turbine there or did it break off. If the brush block is ok, then the turbine is probably bad and will need to be replaced.
