V'spresso problem My V'spresso keeps giving an error that there are no coffee beans in the grinder although there is plenty of coffee there. When this happened before I opened the top of the machine, removed the grinder, cleanned and it was OK again. This time it did not help. I also tried descaling and rinsing. The pre-ground feature of the machine works fine. Thanks.

There is a sensor in there that detects when there is coffee beans in it.
When the sensor is not engaged, it thinks there is no beans.
I would suggest a more thorough clean of the are that the sensor is likely to be.
Worst case, empty the machine of water and coffee, tip it upside down on an old towel or something, and play a light bongo-drum on the base of it, then try cleaning in where the coffee goes with high pressure air.
Should fix it, let us know, hope this helps.

Which one is better a coffee bean or ground coffee?

if coffee is prepared with fresh grinder bean then it gives ultimate taste to coofee with perfect aroma. Some top-range bean to cup models have integrated bean grinders to do this for you, or you can buy a separate grinder. If you grind beans yourself, you'll need to choose the extra-fine setting for espresso brewing and make sure you thoroughly clean and maintain your filters, to prevent them getting blocked. Beans grind, but nothing comes out. says it's out of coffee. works fine with the "pre-ground" setting. Fairly new machine.

Hi
First try turning the big knob in the bean hopper to 18, then the small knob to the minus -. If that doesn't work you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside on the roof of the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder. Vacuum it out. It will be on the backside of the drop chute.
Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper. There are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the large knob to the largest number. You can turn the knob to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to turn to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can turn the knob back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on before, but only when the grinder is running. Turn the small knob up to the + then back 1 mark for a strong coffee.

This is what it looks like when it says out of beans and there are beans in the hopper bansheracer_12.jpg

I keep getting "Fill Coffee Bin" when the bin is

Sounds like the grinder is blocked. Set the grinder to the coarsest setting (largest number) and try a few more times. If still no luck then vacuum out all the beans, run the grinder again a couple of times and then add a small amount of fresh beans (not from a fridge or freezer as these will be moist and can cause problems) and try making coffee again. If after a few tries it still doesn't work then you will either have to remove the top grinder burr and clean both burrs (not recommended unless you are bit of a handy person) or you could try vacuuming out the beans again and letting the grinder dry out for a while (although unlikely, it could be wet from water spillage). Good luck hope this helps.

My Jura Ena 5 gives a 'fill beans' message even though the hopper is full and it won't grind the beans even though it seems to be operating. Help.

Same thing happening to me right now. I think this has something to do with having used flavored beans (which I was warned not to do). Supposedly they gum up the machine.

The V-Spresso burr grinder gums up using flavored coffee beans. How can I clean it out?

Hi
Its not a good idea to use flavored coffee in any grinder that will grind fine. They contain sugars and chemicals that will gum up all good grinders. Use an unflavored, preferably light roast cheap if you can get it. Set your grinder on very coarse ( largest number) and make a couple coffees. This is how to clean any good grinder. Once you have ground through the chea[p stuff. you can put you beans (not flavored) and use the 3 cup to drink. That way the cheap beans will not be used in your coffee. Don't put a lot of cheap beans in the grinder. A couple of handfuls is all that is needed.

When i turn the machine on and try to grind up some coffee beans, the machine makes a sound like the motor is trying to grind. when i open up the grinder lid, i can see that the grinder is spinning but...

Generally, coffee beans are oily and form a goo in these machines.  You may get lucky by first unplugging the machine, getting some copper wire (#14 or #12) and poking around in there to loosen the crud up.  If this doesn't work, the unit will have to be disassembled and cleaned.  Messy!
