This is a common and annoying problem. Your router is running and connected, but they are either not using the same encryption keys or else you have some other setting incorrect (encryption type is a common one).
Turn off the laptop's wireless connection and enable its cable (wired) connection. Connect the laptop to the back of the router physically with a network cable. In a browser type 192.168.1.1 (or other similar number - check your router's quick start guide). Log into the router and go to the WIRELESS SETTINGS. Write down everything you see (channel, station ID, encryption type and key, and whether MAC ADDRESS LOCKING is on (if it is turn it off for now)). Take these settings, reverse the process on your laptop and try to connect wirelessly with the new settings. They have to be exactly the same
If it all works, you need to go back into the router and enable MAC ADDRESS LOCKING after giving it your laptop's MAC ADDRESS, enable the highest standard encryption both the router and the laptop support, and turn off station ID broadcasting if possible.
If you still cannot connect wirelessly, connect again through the wire connection, and turn off encryption, turn off MAC ADDRESS LOCKING, and try again.
Good luck...

Hi 8233 is a good choice for a router
Here's your solution
1. These steps are to be performed strictly from a computer which is wired.
2.Even if you are using your mac book turn of the airport and connect it via a cable.
3. Open your router setup page by typing in 192.168.2.1 on your browser tab or typing i http://192.168.2.1 in the run window
4.An rsp will open and on the top right hand corner of the screen it will say Internet status:: connected
5.On the left hand side change you"ll see channell under wireless
6. Select it and change it to 6 or 11 for best signal strength
7.Now to the most important segment 8233 has a piculiar issue with its extra strong security
8.On the left hand side under wireless you"ll will see an option called wi-fi protected setup
9.Select it and turn it off reboot router and wow the problem should definately be resolved .
Then turn on airport and go wireless along with your wife.
10. You will still be secure with your data through security option on your router (wep or wpa )whatever you use .
Thank you and just let me know if it worked or not

You have to configure your router's wireless setup. To do that, you need to connect you computer/laptop to your router using ehernet cable (cat5). Once you're done, open internet explorer/firefox and enter your router's ip address (can be found in your manual or at the back of your router), you will be ask for username and password (just enter the default if you dont change it before, username: admin , password: none/blank. depends on manufacturer). After you provide and entered those information, you're now on the setup proccess. Just go to wireless setup menu and select your options there. Remember, enable DHCP for the router to automatically assign an ip for your computers. Goodluck!

Hi there,
I have the mentioned all the possible ways to get this issue resolved.
First Lets try changing the Wireless password and user name,In most of the cases this works.
1) Open a new web page delete whatever you see in the address bar(press F4 and press delete).
2) Type in 192.168.2.1 and press enter button on your keyboard.
3) Then comes the Router Configuration Page.
4) If it is asking for Password,do nothing just click submit.
5) Towards your left on the page you will see Wireless. Under that you would also see a sub Heading Channel and SSID.
6) To edit the wireless settings click on Wireless tab in the setup page.
You can edit the Wireless network name and wireless channel.
Wireless name (SSID) is the name of your wireless network. The most
recommended wireless channel is 6. You can use wireless channel 1 and
11 too.
Now change The SSID,delete the current SSID and give it a new name.
7)To enable wireless security on click on security under
wireless tab. And follow the Picture below.
