ACCESSING MY LINKSYS

I have a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4Ghz Broadband Router. The Problem is that I
cant access the internet via the wireless router. I can get a signal between
my laptop and the router i.e the laptop finds the wireless network, but it
will not allow me to gain access to the internet. The router is connected to
my cable modem via an ethernet connection, though if I connect the laptop
directly to the modem I do this via USB. Does anyone know if this is a common
problem or if it may be a problem that I will have to contact my ISP about??
Any tips? I would be very grateful!!!

Hallo! my computer do not accept the router. I set up many times but nothing is working with Wlan. in otherside, the internet ist working via broadband - Linksys(INTERNET) - Linksys(port 1) - Computer. It...

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

How do the cables connect? Which cable goes where?

Step 1:
Connect the broadband modem to the router's WAN or Internet port.
Step 2:
Connect the computer to any available numbered port (1, 2, 3 or 4).
NOTE: In this example, we'll connect the computer to port number 3.

NOTE: It is advisable to connect the computer to one of the Ethernet (1, 2, 3 or 4) ports when setting up the router for the first time. If you have successfully configured the router using a wireless computer, unplug the Ethernet cable which connects the computer to the router for you to have wireless Internet connection. For instructions on how to connect the wireless computer to go online using the Linksys router, click here.

Can't access my linksys on my laptops although I can on my desktop.

Hi ottawakids,

I see that you are having issues accessing your Linksys using your Laptops.

> First Check if the router is detected on the Laptops.

>If the Router is detected and un accessible you ill need to check if there are security settings in the Linksys Router.

>Check if the Linksys has a Network key, or check if the Router MAC address Filtering is turned ON the Router this can also prevent your laptops from accessing the Router.

>If all elsa fails try resetting the Router to defaults and start from scratch maybe some settings are incorrect, setting it to default will fix the issue of the Router not being detected.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day.

Linksys Wireless-G 2.4Ghz Broadband Router Problem

You have to check if your computer can connect to the modem with an Ethernet cable. This will tell you if the ethernet port on the modem is working. if that does not work call your cable provider.

Next thing after you get the instructions above done.

Press the reset button on the back of the router> press it in for 30 seconds then let go and pull out the power. Connect the router up the way it should be before you reset by the way. check if you have internet if you do not follow hte directions at teh link below.
