A part was broken on my washer when this happened to me. The repairman said it was because we put too many heavy jeans in at one time.

Check the shoe inside your agitator. GO TO www.repairclinic.com AND ENTER YOUR MODEL NUMBER. THEN SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE RED 100 AND CLICK IT, NEXT LOOK FOR PART 3137 AND 539628. REMOVE CAP TO SEE THIS PART ON IN YOUR AGITATOR. OR PART 3379 AND 3234. ONE OF THESE SHOULD BE THE PROBLEM.

Washer won't spin.

Not necessarily the tranny. But not familiar with that machine. Could be clutch assembly or belt. The timer seems to be doing it\'s job (1st thing i usually check when no-spin) because you are getting the squeal. If it agitates, the clutch may need to be removed and cleaned up or replaced if it even has a clutch. Regardless you\'ve already done a lot of work there so replacing anything at this point should be relatively easy if you\'ve got the tools. YouTube is also a great resource for DIYers these days. I expect to pay $100.00 give or take for the trannys i replace. search eBay and Amazon etc. Good luck be patient and put all of the screws back (even if they don\'t seem necessary.)

Washer (total care system) is making a humming noise even though I've taken all the clothes out of it. The agitator works, but there's a humming noise. I've stopped it and re-started it, but...

Hi

1 of 2 things could be the trouble.

Does the washer drain properly if you manually turn the control knob? If not then this sounds like your pump is either plugged with possible lint and can't move or has died completely. 99% chance pump is the problem and 99% chance it can be an easy fix by cleaning the pump where the Drain Line is attached, worst case scenario pump is to be replaced, but not a overall expensive fix and most can do it without a technician.

Second problem is possibly the time itself, but if the washer is going through all cycles except spin then pump is likely the culprit, cause in spin cycle the machine has to drain the water from the unit as it spins, if it cannot the washing machine basically stops and cannot complete the cycle.

One way to tell for sure if the pump is the problem. When the machine enters the spin cycle and starts making that noise. Manually turn the dial a little bit till it passes the spin cycle, if it continues to wash till it hits the final spin/drain cycle then stops again...your pump is in need of help.

Hi, I have an Admiral Capacity plus washer model no LNC6764A71. Earlier today it ran fine, but now has filled and isn't running. I've tried turning the dial to another setting like agitate or...

Feel the motor. If it is real hot after it quit it could be toast. Or something in the pump could have over heated it. Take the belt off and turn the pump to see if it is hard to turn, look in it to see if something got in it. Tip the washer back and you will see this:

Check the motor shaft for play or stiffness. If it works after it cools down then the motor overload tripped it. Might be the pump might not be.

Hi. I have the Kenmore 110.92588210 washing machine. The machine will fill, agitate, drain and spin but will not refill again for the second rinse. It will actually skip the rinse and go right to...

Remove the tubing from the level switch and blow out any sediment that may be obstructing the tubing then re-secure. Yank out the timer molex plug and look for corrosion on the plug. Remove the timer. Remove the sheathing from the timer and turn the barrel with your finger looking for burnt spots on the barrel. That is a sign of arcing contacts. Replace the timer or send it off to be rebuilt if you see burnt spots. I gotta say from looking at this part and being a parts supplyer I never or rare ever sold any of these over the years, they simply don't go bad. Now if yours had a plastic housing yeppers I have sold many of them. Having seen the part I would say you have a bad timer. Try and clear the plastic tubing and make sure it ain't pinched up against the rear of the cabinet where the case fits against the bulkhead. It is supposed to be in the channel alongside the harness. Let me know.

Agitator won't spin and water won't drain during spin cycle

Hi
Try these things first.
1) Verify a circuit breaker isn't tripped
2) Advance the timer control dial slowly 360 degrees-
If the washer starts spinning, then we know the motor and drive belt are fine but that there is something wrong with either the timer control dial or the agitator solenoid. Call in a professional for this.
If the washer doesn't budge, then verify that the drive belt(s) is attached and not broken by removing the back panel. If the belt is broken, replace it. If it is loose, then tighten it by loosening up the bolt holding the motor and moving it on its swingarm (much like a car alternator) until there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection in the belt. Some washers use reversing motors. It's possible the motor works on the spin cycle but not on the wash cycle. If so, call a pro.
3) Visually inspect the lid safety switch- Is it loose or cracked? If so, the washer might work intermittently, stopping at different cycles.
4) Check motor and drive belt- Remove the main access panel (usually in the back). Is the motor spinning, but the drive belt isn't? If so, then you have a drive belt problem. Go here. If the motor isn't spinning, then go here for washer motor troubleshooting.
If none of these tips resolve the problem, then there's probably a more serious problem with either the motor, the transmission or the agitator itself. If this is is the case, call in a pro.
