Had my Inspiron 6400 repaired, stripped the scroll driver out of the touch pad. I need it back, where can I download it from, if I can? Touch pad works properly, as does everything else, just not the ability to scroll

Try going to Control Panel - Hardware and sound - mouse. Once you have the menu for the mouse open, go to device settings. Click settings, and all of the advanced controls for the functions of your mouse pad can be found there.
you could either take back to where you got it from and get them to fix it or click on this link
www.dell.com go to support/downloads search through the drop down bars for your make model and operating system which could very well be windows 7
then scroll down to touch pad drivers and download it
windows may ask you to restart after the installation
you will need to install your Synaptics driver. Use the Driver disc that came with your DELL or you may download the driver at www.support.dell.com. Here is the direct link to download : http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&catid=17&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400%2FE1505&hidos=WW1&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=False&scanConsent=False
you will have to go to control panel and then system and then device manager there you will see the mouse listed right click and select update driver and then direct it to the location that you saved the file from dell it will do the rest
probably need a driver or at least an updated driver.
Also go into the control panel and see if there is an icon for the touchpad... double-click on that icon and look for settings to enable the scroll pad.
Unless there is not a hardware switch and the only manufacturer that I know of that did that was Compaq/HP about 5 or so years ago. Typically there are no drivers to be installed for a mouse (touch pad) as a generic set is in the driver library of the operating system. 9 times out of 10 it is a hardware failure. With that being said, if it has warranty send it in, if it does not, (although it may just be a loose connection or the touch pad itself) most repair shops are going to run anywhere from 150 - 300 dollars just to crack it open. Best option is to get a small USB mouse, unless you just really want the touch pad.
the problem that you are having is that you need a touch pad driver to communicate right. you can find that on your dell website. search the model that is on your dell laptop.
Thanks, I'm going to try that right now!
touchpad work fine just scroll doesn't work!
