Panda CRT ULTRA SLIM TV I am electronics repair man in Ethiopia. I have panda CRT 21" Ultra slim Tv. I have changed the board with new 21" universal board. But after a minutes the HOT become very hot & blown. I tried the board is on other 21'' normal tv screen. It is normal. Also I tried other tcl board on that Panda screen but the HOT become extremly hot. But when I replaced the yoke the screen function and no HOT become hot. But the geometry problem occured. I realize that the screen wants high yoke driver(HOT). The original board have FET ( IRF 630) that get an input from Y and support the Hot. Now my question is how I can build that ( IRF 630) Circuit externally to get HOT not blown? AKA I have changed the board bc the CPU 8373 have no response for key and remot. Every voltage in the board (110, 185, 25, 12, 9, 5) normal but the voltage out put for the RGB (R=1.3v G=1.3v B=9v) and 9v for Crt= 3v i.e no green and red colour. No tuning. But only blue screen. But the HOT is normal. I also changed EEPROM if the is child lock activated. Finally I have Changed the board. But it cant be a solution. Any one help me on the way I can fix either the original board, Or the New board fit with the yoke. Is that possible to use 2 or more HOT in parallel, As in that of audio power ampilfier stage?

When a red crt goes out and wont light its usually another reason such as a transistor or even faulty CRT pc board that causes it since the set powers up the other two tubes. Go to this link and leave them an email and list the model number and tell them the symptoms they will help you out with it, they are real good with the RCa sets. If the red tube was shot it would cause the set to go into shutdown or throw red retrace lines across the screen. Heres the link,

The set needs degaussed this is common issue, most tv's have a degaussing coil in them, but they are very weak and will not correct extreme issues. It is possible the internal degaussing coil has stopped functioning. If this is one of these sony 40" crt's this is a big problem. and any metal near by will cause gausing of these tubes. Have a tech come out and degause your tube. A technician will have a very powerful loop coil that will clear the problem with one or two passes. But if it returns, check for perminant magnets near the set like large speakers or any other thing, this can also be caused by a child;s toy with a magnet it it if the child has rubbed it across the screen. This is not a destating issue and can be corrected easly.

I would suspect the trouble is one of two things---a shorted device like an IC on the board at the end of the picture tube---most sets use either 3 transistors, one larger IC or 3 individual chips---first thing is to examine the soldering on that board looking for any broken connections.

If you can find a schematic for the set voltage checks will pinpoint where the issue is---an old trick if uses 3 transistors or 3 chips is to identify which is green and swap it for one of the other 2 if numbers on them are identical.

Second and fatal possible reason is the green gun in the CRT picture tube is shorted---almost no way around that as the tube itself would have to be replaced---most modern shops are able to test the tube and determine if shorted or not.

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor.
