My vacuum came with a sponge over the filter and the directions said I could wash the filter. Do the directions mean to wash the black sponge or the actual filter? Is the sponge part of the filter or is it trash?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Typically the top filter of which is the sponge is washable but the HEPA filter is not, it can be brushed off and vacuum off with another vacuum, but the best filtration is to replace the HEPA filter and to wash the sponge filter, if the sponge filter get to bad then replace the sponge filter as well. Or, you can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the manufacturer’s website and or phone #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

SOURCE: Bosch Vacuum Cleaner: I changed

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

It sounds like you may have a bad thermal switch inside the machine. Most vacuum cleaners have a switch connected to the motor, so if the vacuum cleaner is running hot, it will shut off to prevent any damage to your motor. You did all the right things by checking the bag, making sure the hose was NOT clogged, and replacing HEPA filter.

Most of the time on canister vacuums, the reason is caused by a clog in the hose, or somewhere in the powerhead. If you're sure that there is no clog anywhere, it is going to be the thermal switch on the motor.

Here's a link to the parts schematic for the Bosch upright vacuum. I hope it helps you in determining how to access the thermal switch. A word of warning to you before you try it, this is a very tough vacuum cleaner to work on, you may want to bring it in to a vacuum repair shop, as this is not an easy repair.

Here's the link;

Just purchased Dyson DC33. There is air blowing out between the top of the plastic cover of the Hepa filter and base of the dust collector bin. Is this normal or? I have made sure the Hepa cover is tight...

Hi there,

I can confirm that the air you've noticed blowing out of the cleaner is simply the HEPA-filtered exhaust air being expelled back into the room. It's a feature of the cleaner's design, and is nothing to be concerned about.

Where dos the hepa filter go by on a dyson dc08 animal

Hi there, The HEPA filter in your DC08 Animal is designed to last the lifetime of the cleaner, and should not require attention. Do not try to wash this filter, as this could cause damage. this filter needs washing at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent, and ensure the filter is completely dry before replacing it. If you have any further queries about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to provide the information and assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 - our Helpline is available from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week. Each time I vacuum, animal hair and dirt collect on the Hepa filter of my Dyson Animal. It is about 5 years old. I have already replaced the Hepa filter about a month ago.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC14. If dirt and pet hair are collecting on your HEPA filter, the pre-motor filter may be incorrectly fitted, or missing from your cleaner. To check the filter is correctly fitted, please see our online support video for this cleaner:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1461&product=DC14-ALLFLOORS_US

If the cleaner has been used with the pre-motor filter missing, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly, as the cleaner may have been damaged. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Black & decker parquet 1800w hepa h13 need

I'm not sure what bag your referring to. The only bag for this is the carrying bag. So I have to assume you mean one of the filters.
There are three filters for this vacuum.
  • Primary Filter.
  • Exhaust Filter.
  • Secondary Filter Element.
I have included a link to a site that carries the replacement parts and a diagram of the vacuum.
Hope this helps.
On another note If it doesn't help I really don't feel to bad because I'm in Detroit Michigan. And I'd rather have a dozen useless vacuums hanging out in New Zealand any day. :)
Find me a job there and I'll buy you a new vacuum. :)
