I cannot connect to my belkin connect n150 router after enabling it as an access point. Green light shows up on router and wireless network shows up but no connection when clicked. I cant connect via

Pretty sure you have to have at least one router in gateway mode to connect to the internet. An AP allows wireless devices to connect to a wired segment. The same as a router in gateway mode. AP mode has the benefit of extending a networks wireless range. If this is your only device leave it in gateway mode.

Zyxel P660HW-D1 Router. Which settings need to be changed to turn it into a repeater and connect with my main broadband router.

Can't use a router as a repeater in a wireless sense. You could set it to AP mode and run an ethernet cable from a lan port on your other router to the WAN/uplink port on the Zyxel. If it doesn't have AP mode then you could have it in gateway mode run have a different subnet on the Zyxel with DHCP.

My friend has a linksys router. (Not sure on the model). But I am trying to set up a WRE54G-RM range extender. I am able to go the setup, but then when I get to the point where I have to change some of...

Is the router set to allow extension of the network?

Is there MAC address filtering set up on the router?

Are you certain that you are connecting to the correct router? To be sure, change the SSID to something unique and not the default of "linksys".

Configure Modem Echolife HG520s With WRT54G OR WRE54G

Not sure if I understand properly but your router should have a WAN port or an "Internet" port

your modem should be connected to it and your PC should be on any of the LAN port

Access point failure

Unfortunately cyber this does not have a mode or option to act as a repeater .I have check their website and check the specification of the device..You may want to get the WAP54g from Linksys as well for it has that option (act as a wireless repeater) or get the WRE54G wireless extender or repater for Linksys router.

Hope this was informative.

Connect wag200g to wap54g wireless

Hi!

I am sorry to say this but the accesspoint WAP54G's capability as a wireless repeater can only be used with a WRT54G, WRT54GS and another WAP54G.

That means it will not work as a wireless repeater for the WAG200G gateway. If you need a wireless repeater, you can use a WRE54G. This is a Linksys wireless repeater and is compatible for all wireless AP's.

If you have any other questions, you can ask me and I'll help you.

WAP54G's as repeaters

Are you trying to setup both access point to repeat the signal of the router?
The correct way to setup the AP's as repeater is to access the setup page of your router go to status and go to the wireless subtab, check what is the MAC address that is what your suppose to configure on the AP's not the LAN MAC address which is on the local networks subtab on status.
Access the setup page of the AP's and go to AP Mode, make sure that you choose the repeater and copy down the Wireless MAC address you obtained from the wireless router. To enable roaming, meaning your wireless computer/device will connect to the AP/router closest to its location, change the wireless channel on all three device for example WRT54G will be on channel 1, 1st AP as repeater on Channel 6 and the last AP to Channel 11 but the other settings must be the same(Wireless name(SSID) and Wireless Security).

Note: Setting up an AP as repeater to repeat or extend the signal of another AP that is set to repeater is not recommended since the signal will deteriorate due to the number of hops the packets will be sent.

Hope this will help you setting up those WAP's which for me is quite useful since you can set it up to act as a repeater, AP client and a bridge to a WRT54G router.

WAP54G as AP -- WRE54G no DHCP

I had the same problem. Went through tons of emails and finally twigged onto one that had the solution. Sorry that I do not have the link but I think I know the solution.

The problem is probably in the router. Computers on the network can ping 192.168.1.240 and you can even open the application when you enter the address into your browser, correct? You are only half done.

On your router make sure that the Wireless Distribution Service or WDS is enabled. This is extremely important. You will need to enter the mac address of your WRE54G into the field in your router's advanced settings under WDS. That will connect the two devices together. Just as the WRE54G needs to know the mac address of the router, the router needs to know the mac address of the WRE54G.

I have ver 3 and when the connection was made, both LEDs went blue and the Link Status on the in the browser changed from ------- to the mac address of the router.

Give that a try

Linksys Range Expander...

Hi,

Initially, it is possible that the WRE54G has not been configured to talk with WiFi AP/Router downstairs and all that is needed is to configure/set it up.

Setup (to be done in the same room where your WiFi AP/Router is installed and preferably with your daughter's laptop which can already connect to your network when it is near):
1. Download the LinkSys WRE54G Setup Wizard from the LinkSys site;
2. Use a LAN cable connection to the WRE54G Ehternet port (located underneath a flip lid in front panel) to one of your daughter's laptop;
3. Power up the LinkSys Expander;
4. Press the Range Expander’s Auto Configuration button for about five seconds. Normally this should be sufficient for the Expander to auto-detect and auto-configure itself;
5. Power off;
6. Move the Expander to your intended place of installation;
7. Again using your daughter's laptop, expand/install the downloaded LinkSys Setup Wizard. Soon as the program is running, follow the on screen instructions. Please don't forget to Save before exiting.
8. Move your daughter's laptop to its intended location and try the system.

Should you still need a User's Guide, it is available here.

Another possibility that we cannot discount is that the WRE54G is also not reaching your router downstairs. Perhaps what can be done is installing it not a floor down from your daughter's but halfway between your daughter's floor and your office downstairs.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post again how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
