Ps3 will only play dvds and cds

sounds like u shot the cd/blueray driver...tough luck ..might need it replaced

Does it recognize regular dvds?
Does it recognize games?

If it does not recognize games, but will play dvds then the blu-ray laser is bad. It will have to be replaced.

If it wont play either, then the drive is bad and must be replaced. YOu can get noth parts on ebay, but they are a bit pricey.

sounds like a dead Laser they are a dual laser will read DVDs n CDs but wont read Blueray movies or PS3 games Laser might need replacing

Laser has to be bad then if its not reading brand new games or dvds. To verify this though get a can of air and gently blow it into the drive to make sure there is no specs of dirt or dust on the laser.

Now try the games and dvds again and if its still happening then the laser needs to be replaced and you can get them fairly cheap off of Ebay.

Your laser is going out.

It has nothing to do with the system.

You'll have to replace the blu-ray laser in order to have a 100% working machine again.

The game miht be to warm
