KEMS308SSS KitchenAid Wall oven - Error F3E0 - Sensor seems OK

Our oven is shutting off with this error (F3E0) after 30-45mins, depending on temperature. It seems to happen more at 400-450-degree temperatures. After the error/shut-off, we are able to turn it right back on again and keep cooking. After reading troubleshooting tips, I checked the resistance of the RTD temperature sensor. It read approximately as it should - 1100ohm at room temperature. In diagnostics mode, however, the cavity temperature seems very wrong. For example, immediately after shutting off the oven, it was showing 77-degrees cavity temperature and 95-degrees ambient. Is it possible that my RTD is bad, even if it measures 1100ohm at room temperature? I did complete the rest of the testing and the boards seem fine. Wiring harness is fine. Reading was taken both right at the sensor and where it connects to the appliance control board. Appreciate any help!

Error F3E0

next time you see the error codes, write them down. F3E0 is open sensor error . I don't think you have an oven sensor error or a problem with the sensor. When the oven works the temperatures are good so the sensor won't be open. F0E0 is "No Error" and "No Action Required". It sounds like a loose or a bad connection in the control section. There is no connection between the oven door and the control panel. Opening and closing the door to clear error codes or to get the oven to work is jarring the control and the loose or bad connection to the point it makes contact and works. Start with the ribbon connector and remove and reinsert it. You can also use a pencil eraser to gently clean the end of the ribbon connector. Remove and reinstall the wire harness connectors on the boards. Make sure all the pins in the connector are in place and not starting to come out the back of the connector.

Kitchenaid KEMS308 display is saying "enter probe temp or remove probe" No probe is plugged in or has been used in a while. This message came up after cooking for about 3 1/2 hours at 300 degrees. Now...

Apparently this is to do with moisture having affected the oven adversely (I got this error message after baking 50 potatoes with all the steam that generated. Have a look at this page http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=162257 ....the solution is to set the probe for 160F then turn the oven on for 15 minutes or so at 450F. This apparently should dry out the probe position and all work again.....I am trying it now.....

KitchenAid Wall and Microwave Oven Combo - KEMS308SSS

Have had this oven for 8 years. At least three times, usually after using the clean cycle in the main oven, the latch mechanism has broke and the oven door will not open. In March they installed a 'new design' to prevent this. It's seven months later, and it broke again. Has anyone had similar experiences? How did you resolve?

Kitchen Aid ovens - error codes

The F-3 error code typically means you have sensor problem. The sensor is usually mounted in the oven space up near the top of the unit. The first thing to do is turn off the circuit breaker to the oven. Do you have an ohm meter? I suggest if you don't to purchase one. They are relatively inexpensive. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend. Disconnect the sensor from the electronic control and measure the resistance. There should be a wiring diagram in the top of the unit that will help you to locate the sensor wires. Most sensors should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature. If sensor reads as an open circuit or has a very high resistance, it must be replaced. If instead it reads very low, then there is a short in the wiring. Some units have a fuse in series with the sensor. Check to see that the fuse has not blown.
