What are the error codes for Kitchen Aid ovens (in this case, a KEMS378--are they all the same?) and what do they mean?
I'm getting an F-3. The entire oven / microwave unit works (clock, light, display, microwave) except that the oven doesn't heat in any mode, and power at the breaker is correct. This occurred immediately after a successful self-cleaning.
Thx so much.

I turned off the power to my house and turned it back on to reset my Uverse DVR, and Internet because I couldn't get the DVR to operate. After I did this, my Kitchenaid Microwave began shutting off within one second. Next a lost communication error code of F6EO appeared on the panel. I switched off the power to just the oven for about 5 minutes and then back on. It seems to have corrected the problem. I am beginning to hate computers.

Re:
The F-3 error code typically means you have sensor problem. The sensor is usually mounted in the oven space up near the top of the unit.
The first thing to do is turn off the circuit breaker to the oven. Do you have an ohm meter?
I suggest if you don't to purchase one. They are relatively inexpensive. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend. Disconnect the sensor from the electronic control and measure the resistance. There should be a wiring diagram in the top of the unit that will help you to locate the sensor wires. Most sensors should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature. If sensor reads as an open circuit or has a very high resistance, it must be replaced. If instead it reads very low, then there is a short in the wiring. Some units have a fuse in series with the sensor. Check to see that the fuse has not blown.

It would help to know what make and model of stove it is.
The first step is to unplug the stove from the wall for 30 seconds or more, then plug it back in
Troubleshooting steps
Turn the power to the oven off. It usually is not possible to unplug the power chord for the built-in appliances so go to the main switch board and just turn off the oven power for about 5 minutes and then turn on the switch. The error code should disappear. Mine did! Chander Mehta

1. Test
operation of door lock on self-clean models 2. Test relay contact operation 3. High resistance in oven temperature sensor
F3
F4 Meat probe shorted 1. Disconnect meat probe and measure probe resistance (78kω at 60° F [15.6° C], 37kω at 90° F [32.2° C]). 2. If resistance is not valid replace probe. 3. Insert probe and check for a firm connection between probe and jack (in oven cavity). 4. Check connection between jack and harness (in rear of oven).
It sounds like the probe jack may be bad or the wiring between the jack and the control board above.
Your code is 2 parts, F2 is oven temp is too high, and the E0 wants you to test the relay contact operation. In simpler language make sure the connections are tight.
