Fridge warm, freezer has frost on back panel & is defrosting, fans work, just changed defrost thermostat, no air is moving from freezer side to fridge side, drain pan under fridge is dry

this fan needs to run when the compressor runs, check fan blade for being jammed by ice if you have this much ice on back wall as ice will stall motor,if no fan there will be no cool air to refrige compartment also the defrost drain tray will fill with water then freeze over which in turn floods the freezer floor and refrige compartments cause it cannot drain to the pan in the bottom

Gss25pgmaww getting too cold

if what you mean by too cold is the refrigerator side, then its probably in the damper vent door located in the upper left corner of the refrigerator side, you need to remove the upper shelves, then the control panel at the top of the refrige side, the water filter cover, then this will let you remove and inspect the damper door,it has probably broken and has jammed open as this is a problem with g.e. side by sides, when taking out damper door module be careful as theres a small 4 wire cable to this so dont stretch and break this

Hi, my GE refrigerator has ice developing on the rear wall of the freezer, and things in my crisper drawer are freezing solid, please help!!!!

Unplug refrig. Empty all food from freezer side and remove shelves from freezer. Remove back metal cover from inside freezer. Melt frost with a hair blower. Examine defrost heater at very bottom of the coils you defrosted. If heater coil inside glass tube is broken, replace defrost heater. (note: replacement may look different, but insturctions included with replacement address that) If heater is not broken, replace the small white pencil shapped sensor at the top of the cooling coils.

How do I change the refrigerator fan in a ge PSW26LSRD?

with this refrig there are two fans one for the freezer and one for the refrig. the freezer one is kinda a pain you have to pretty much take everything out of the freezer. if you look at the freezer back wall it sits right behind the lights. the refrig fan is a little easier start by taking all the shelves out and you will see the baffle assy that goes along the back wall and on top. the bottom part of the baffle with slide down and you will see two screw. now for the top take the light cover off and then you should see two screws on each side. unscrew those and then and take down the bracket and the you should be able to pull the baffle assy down that holds the refrig fan. let me know if you need a video

Food in refrigerator is freezing

check the damper door between the freezer and refrigerator compartments,it most likely has frozen in the fully open position allowing cold air into refrige compartment all the time, you will see ice build up around the damper door unit, remove the door unit defrost, replace and then see if it moves when you change the refrige cold control

First thing this a.m. we discovered a puddle of water on the floor on the left side of the fridge. This is not the first time....so we are wondering what is causing this? I am guessing about the profile #...

You have a plugged defrost drain.
Unplug refrig. Unload freezer. Remove shelves. Take back panel out of freezer. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush water in the area of the defrost drain hole until it is clear and water will run through it into the defrost drain pan under the refrig. The drain is a hole about the size of a nickel, usually in the very back center, below the cooling coils. You can use the turkey baster to force water into and eventually through the drain hole. Remove ice from floor of freezer.
Re-assemble, refill freezer, and plug in. Now, when your refrig defrosts, the water will go out the drain instead of onto the freezer floor and out the freezer door onto your floor.

Ge Profile refrigerator

Yes your refrig is not defrosting automatically. You can start by removing the shelves in the freezer than removing the rear panel (the panel that is frosted half way). Use hair dryer to defrost ice from coil. This will restore your refrig temporarily. Your refrig has a pretty advance defrost system and is not easy to test. If you have a meter (volt-ohmmeter) i can help with diagnosis.
