Unfortunately my friend, there is not a whole lot that can be done. Sharp has a great limited warranty, but it does NOT cover ANY problems due to physical damage. Getting screens replaced often times cost more than the tv itself. Save yourself the trouble of getting pissed off at sharp because they wont help you if you decide to call and replace the tv. yes and no. That particular tv you have is done for, but if you just purchased it 6 months ago, you are still within you 1 year warranty with sharp. they will ask you to take it to a authorized service center and you need to follow through with the process. about a week or 2 will pass and the service center will deem the unit unrepairable and sharp will replace it if they cant solve the problem. give em call..good luck 2u

Hope so; the problem could be an expensive one.

The screen appearance is controlled by allowing light from a backlight through by turning pixels off and on.
This switching is done by a matrix that turns on vertical and horizontal pixels of the right shade at the right time to produce the image you see.
One of the control elements for the vertical that controls the transmission of green light from the backlight, has died (no longer switching off and on when told) and these are normally a part of the LCD screen assembly itself and not easily replaceable.

I would be talking to Sharp - this shouldn't happen in 6-7 months of use.

Possibly needs a new control circuit board or lcd panel
