You most likely have a broken motor coupling. It is located between the motor and the transmission. It is an easy repair and only costs around 20 dollars. To change it out simply unplug the washer and tip it back so you can work under it. The first thing you will see is the pump. Take off the two clamps with a flat head screw driver and move it to the side. Do not take off the hoses unless you want water everywhere. Next you will see the motor. The motor is held up by two clamps. The clamps have 2 screws in each one. Remove the screws and with your flat head pop off the clamps. Make sure you hold the motor cause when you take off that first clamp the motor will drop. The motor coupling will come off with it. Put your new one on, (it only goes on one way) and put everything back together again. You will be up and running good as new in no time again. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck and glad to help.

Kenmore Elite Oasis Washing Machine with Mystery Issue

Your problem is complex. There is a difference between overload and unbalanced load. If your front loader has an variable speed control for spinning, you may need to slow it down. Focus on one cycle only. Normal load. Make your adjustment from there.

I have a Frigidaire LTF530FS Front Load Washing Machine. It stopped draining and spinning. The drain pump had an underwire from a bra stuck in it. We removed that and cleaned the pump. Hooked everything...

Hello - This particular issue can be caused by quite a few reasons. Washer could be experiencing a communication error from the main control board, faulty door lock assembly or the timer itself is not operating correctly. Since you hear a humming noise, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned or could possibly have another issue with the door lock assembly or pressure switch. You can also press and hold the start/pause and cancel button together at the same time for approximately 30 seconds to display an error code on the LED. What error code does it display? However, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the washer.

When washer gets to spin cycle it shakes and moves about the laundry room and does not drain

You will have to quit washing your concrete blocks with your red bricks.
When this problems begins you have to readjust the load to balance the spin cycle.Move item around to make the load more pound wise equitable.

After the final spin cycle, my clothes are still wet.

Check these out:
  • If your washer spins but does not pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that is attached to the pump or even into the pump itself. It it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.
  • To remove the item from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Using a needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the stuck item through the port.
  • Check your washer for a frozen pulley. Remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely, it's frozen, replace it.
  • If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back after the spin cycle, your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub.
  • Also check for these problems:
  1. If the drain hose reaches more than 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut the excess.
  2. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

Washing machine will not go thru it's spin cycle.

I just replaced the 4 rubber straps on the tub. Washed a load and it worked fine. Washed a second load and it did not spin on the rinse cycle. Checked the wiring on the switches. All OK. What do I check next. Did I mess up something around the tub ?

Spin Cycle quit and just hums

You may have a drain error problem.  The unit will not go into spin if the water cannot be extracted properly.  Check your filter screen to make sure that it is clear.

Won't spin.

Your washer obviously has been over-loaded. It trips the spin switch & prevents top-speed spinning. See that you load within the machine's user manual load, not more. You can even weigh your laundry before loading to see that you dont over-load. Also see that the laundry is evenly placed within the bucket. These are suggestions.
