SOURCE: kebs208d THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK

HI, this is a major control fault. you will need to replace the Oven control asap if possible. It has failed.

Possible causes--

*Power surge
*Failed logic(IC)
*Oven Temp Sensor failuer that has resulted in extreme temps that has overheated the board.

SOURCE: Kitchen Aid Oven - Superba Selectra- receive

Hi,

Here is what Kitchen Aid says about F4:

F4 Meat probe shorted
1. Disconnect meat probe and measure probe resistance (78kω at 60° F [15.6° C],
37kω at 90° F [32.2° C]).
2. If resistance is not valid replace probe.
3. Insert probe and check for a firm connection between probe and jack (in oven cavity).
4. Check connection between jack and harness (in rear of oven).

It sounds like the probe jack may be bad or the wiring between the jack and the control board above.

SOURCE: what does the sign "control lock" mean?

Here is what the manual for your oven says about control lock.

Let me know if you have questions.

Control Lock
The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the oven(s). The Control Lock will remain set
after a power failure, if set before the power failure. The only time
it is not available is during the Sabbath Mode or Self-Clean cycle.
When the control is locked, only the TIMER SET · START, TIMER
CANCEL, OVEN LIGHT and CANCEL OFF, UPPER OVEN
CANCEL / OFF or LOWER OVEN CANCEL / OFF pads will
function. On double oven models, CLOCK SET · START will also
function.
The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked.
To Lock/Unlock Control: Press and hold CONTROL LOCK for
about 3 seconds, until “CONTROL LOCK” and a picture of a lock
appear on the display. Repeat to unlock and remove “CONTROL
LOCK” from the display.

Hi there, I was wiping down my oven and hit one of these buttons the timer went off, my oven now won’t work and I have no idea what to do ?

Is there any letters that it is displaying on the LCD screen? If so it could be in lock mode or display mode.
Locate the "Cancel" and "Cook & Hold" buttons on the oven's control panel.
Hold down "Cancel" then hold "Cook & Hold" with another finger for three seconds. Both buttons must be held together.
Wait three seconds; the display will change from "OFF" to "LOCK" and the door will seal.
Repeat these instructions to unlock the door. The door lock cannot be activated if the oven is in use.

Whirlpool loc

From a google search the following is copied:

LOC is a control panel lock not a door lock, see below.

The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the ovens.
When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET and
TIMER OFF pads will function.
The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked.
To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the ovens,
Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER
until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and
"START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds.
Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display.

If the above does not work have you tried removing power from the uit for a few minutes to see if it will reset.

We a kitchen aid oven the door was accidentally lock. Can you find out how to open it? Whirlpool owns kitchen aid

  • Look for a manual lever to unlock the oven. If there is one, it will probably swing back and forth horizontally, just below the upper edge of the oven door

  • Swing the locking lever, if one is present, all the way to the left. This should unlock the oven. If there is no manual lever to unlock the oven, it may be unlocked using push-button controls.

  • 3

Check to see if the oven is in a self-cleaning cycle, or has just completed a self-cleaning cycle. If so, the door will unlock automatically once the oven has finished the cleaning cycle and cooled completely, which may take several hours. You cannot unlock the oven before it has cooled.

  • 4

Unlock the "Clean/Off" button. Depending on the brand and model of your oven, the button may display both of these designations or just one. If your oven door is locked, but the oven is not warm and is not in a cleaning cycle, unlock it by pressing and holding the "Clean/Off" button.

I don't know the model # but its a kenmore oven and my daughter left her finger on the stop button too long and so the oven door automatically locked us out. I can't find the book for it

    According to the eHow website,
"press and hold the stop/clear button for 3 seconds to unlock the door."
(it's the same to lock the door in the first place.)

According to the Just Answer website, either press and hold the stop/clear button for 3 seconds or 5 seconds, (A beep will sound. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked and the lock icon light has cleared.) or you have to press the button 3 times quickly.

  • 1.Press the "Clear/Off" button on the control panel to reset the oven. This will clear the lock setting and unlock the door.

3.Reset the oven to the temperature you require to finish cooking by pressing the correct temperature control on the control pad.

  • 1.If your GE Profile microwave won't turn on, unplug it, then plug it back in. A power outage may have occurred due to a power surge. Check your home's fuses and circuit breakers.

2.Set the clock of your GE Profile microwave. Certain models will not operate until you set the clock. Select the "Clock" key and type in the correct time.

  • 3.Hold down your microwave's "Off" button. You may have accidentally hit the control-lock feature on your GE Profile microwave. Hold down the "Off" button for three seconds to turn the lock off.

  • 4.If the sensors of your GE Profile microwave are not working correctly, remove the food from the machine. If the sensors detect food-surface temperatures over 200 degrees Fahrenheit, it will not work properly until the area cools down.

  • 5.Contact GE Support if you are unable to resolve the issue on your own. Call the GE Support hotline or browse the help library on the GE website. You can also schedule a service visit on GE's website.

Cleaning Kenmore double ovens back to back. During second cleaning got F9 code and the bottom oven is locked. Cleared the F9 will the bottom oven unlock when it cools down?

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.
