HDMI will only go as far as HDTV. Use DVI, component video (RGB etc) or VGA instead.

SOURCE: AOC monitor 2436vh does not

The "Best Solution" fixes a problem that is unrelated to the original poster. anononline19's solution is to fix the entire OSD being locked (displays OSD Locked when the menu button is pressed).

Original poster's problem can be fixed by changing your graphics card's "overscan" settings.

Overscan on ATI cards:

Overscan on nVidia cards is currently not supported.

SOURCE: i have sapphire ati radeon

Hello,

In order to connect a graphics card with a monitor using HDMI theyu both must have a HDMI port.

While your graphics card does have a HDMI port, it appears that your monitor does not.

You will not be able to connect them with HDMI.

Hi i am looking for vga cable 9 Pin Female to 15 Pin Female thanks

The 9-pin port on your PC tower is NOT a video port, it is a serial data port. All VGA connectors are 15-pin. Hooking up to the 9-pin port will not get you a picture. There should be a VGA port on the PC, or else a DVI an/or HDMI port. You can get DVI-to-VGA adapters that work, but only if the DVI port is an analog DVI, not if it is a digital DVI (DVI-D or DVI-DD).

Why do it?

Do you have more than one video connector. one may be main and the other may not turn on until activated. for multiple monitors, If main has full resolution and you are on secondary there may not be enough resolution available to put on second channel.

Plz help

if it has the touch controls on side you may have to switch to correct channel. Usually it auto switches but something can always go wrong. other problems include, the signal in may not be able to be shown on monitor because it can't handle resolution. maybe pci was disabled in bios for onboard video? or vice versa. There are always 2 sides on video cable. I can only make things up if I don't see everything.

BOUNCING CHARACTERS/DISPLAY

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.

Cannot fit to screen size

You probably need to install a display driver for this monitor on your netbook. http://us.aoc.com/monitor_displays/e950swn

I have sapphire ati radeon 5570 graphics card. i have aoc 912sw+ 19 inch lcd monitor. how to connect hdmi port of graphics card with monitor?

the HDMI port is for connecting video and sound to a home theatre / surround sound system. I understand that this monitor only has a VGA connector.

The sapphire ati radeon 5570 graphics card has the following ports on the back to connect to a display: DVI (white), VGA (blue) and DisplayPort (the thin slot in the middle). You can use an ordinary VGA cable to connect the card to your monitor.

Unfortunately you cannot connect this card directly to your monitor using the DisplayPort.

Hope this helps
