no model stated, no answers possible
any monitor for 10 years have 3 ways.
1: a knob (old)(or up down keys on monitor)
2: OSD brightness , push monitors menu button key see it, it is in your manual how to do thiis

3: super modern monitor can do this remotely at the Desktop using a special app. NO PC told NO JOY ever. (the magic of eDId chip does this) 3 works and #2 works too on new monitors.

DISKTOP 101, day, none told., at all,
NO PC told at all, my desktop with high end GPU card Nvidia has the edid magic, in the driver, seen in task bar.
the magic eDID desktop app is called (generic))

there are 3 ways, at the MON, , at the taskbar amd/nvida app. or 3rd party app.

    called Monitor asset manager.
    here

    free.https://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/get/monito...

    or from makerhttps://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninf...

the unstated monitor must allow this to work , only newer monitors can do that. ok..
but the OSD works, on the mon, button marked MENU
no monitor told at all , make and model or i'd have read the free manual to you.

my desktop (unlike most others and most others are never the same)
all modern with Nvidia. new GTX1650, CPU card, (turing grade)
in my task bar, see NV icon , click that. and pick its control panel
and monitor that allows eDID changes, unlike old monitors, .
if amd/ati do the same thing,

If you are using windows XP :

1.Right click on desktop
2.Properties
3.Settings
4.Advanced

Windows 7:

1.Open Display Color Calibration by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type calibrate display, and then click Calibrate display color. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I found a simple freeware app called "ScreenBright" from an article by AlbanRampon on the displaylink.org forum. This lets you adjust monitors that are DisplayLink compatible (adj settings via serial comms over the video lead with DDC/CI protocol). Solved my problem with my 2014 vintage AOC E2270Swn monitor on Windows10.

Only you have to press and hold the power button of the AOC monitor. then a menu will appear, press again to select brightness option. the second option is for adjusting brightness. after selecting the second option press the power button and hold it for few seconds. you can see brightness is increasing and decreasing

How do i adjust the brightness

Hi,

please look for a button with a sun icon above it. Usually pressing that button and the using the corresponding arrows on the device should allow you to alter the brightness.

Thank you.

Power led brightly on but no display on AOC S5G10

It is understood that your AOC monitor is not working, you had followed troubleshooting steps like connecting VGA and Power cable from monitor to computer and the monitor panel light is ON but still no display. You have tried connecting another monitor and it is working fine, so it is advised to contact AOC support to check if the monitor is under warranty and it can be replaced or repair. To help you do these, please follow the link given below:
