AOC monitor 2436vh does not fill the screen using the HDMI connector. There is a 1 inch black border around the window. Controls to stretch the display are locked out (not accessible) when using that connector.

Most HDTV's have more than one HDMI ports. Move the cable to another port or use the setup button on the side of the HDTV and go the "input" and select a different HDMI port.

Check the cable of your better speakers or used another hdmi cable

If the monitor has settings to change the horizontal and vertical scale try stretching the picture to fit the screen.

HDMI will only go as far as HDTV. Use DVI, component video (RGB etc) or VGA instead.

Had the same problem! Solve it: go to the AMD catalist and choose advanced look. then inside the digital display setting you'll see scalling option that will show 10% . Set it to 0%. Done!

Unfortunately, the 24" AOC 2436Vw Monitor does not have built in Stereo Speakers. I know that is not the best answer to hear, but after doing a little more research, I found that the 24" AOC 2436Vh Monitor has 2 built 1.5W Stereo Speakers for just $50 more.

all monitors have matrix of resolutions allowed as no monitor on earth ever did them all H x V x hz. ever. (called the spec and matrix reso)
so we read the manual RTM and learn that
then learn what the PC can do and do what is ALLOWED.

Radeon 5770,can do.2009 made too, not new 2017 at all. it is a great old card.



1200 will fail on your monitor go to 1080 not 1200

also the ATI/AMD app shows all resolutions it can do if you look.
cross hair errows is on page 8 in the manual and states
Image Setup --- Clock, Phase, H.Position, V.Position, Exit
Notes : When the input source is digital signal like DVI or HDMI, Image Setup can not be adjusted
that is because VGA is analog and this works but not for digital

see the PC to the correct listed, monitors resolution and like magic it works, RTM. costs nothing to read.
in fact the monitor and PC video card can do things the other can not do. it is our job to correct this, if PnP fails,
PNP scan the monitor and then tells the vidoe card what the monitor can do. but many times there are no PNP support in windows 10 for any 2008 monitor, that means AOC never released the inf file to do that. sad face.

I purchased the AOC 2436Vh display yesterday. To get my MacBook Pro to work with it I purchased Apple's Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter. Since the monitor comes with the VGA cable, all you need is the adapter to plug it into your MacBook Pro. It works beautifully and set up is easy if you know your way around the Mac. Although the HDMI works perfectly with my PS3, I strongly recommend the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. I hope this helps.

You should set your PC to the monitor native resolution for this monitor: 1440 x 900 @60Hz.

if you hav a monitor separate from your computer(not a laptop)then just use your settings on the monitor untill it works again the way you like it..

or for laptops and monitors with no controls on them go 2 control panel>>>>appearance and themes>>>>display. then click on the tab that says settings. go 2 advanced and the dpi setting should be set at 96....and if nothing changes go 2 the appearance tab then 2 advanced. and at the bottom for the item look for active window border and the size should say 1. if it does then keepo trying to make the number bigger so your page doesnt have a black border
