Question about Brother Disney PE-400D Computerized Sewing Machine

THREAD CARTRIDGE WONT LOCK IN PLACE

When I push the tread cartridge in, it will not go all the way down. Seems like something is preventing it from being able to lock in place.

Hi - I'm sorry you have been waiting for an answer to your problem. Can you tell me whether this was first time you used the cartrige, or has it been working up until now? Unfortunately, the cartridges tend to break fairly easily.
To determine whether your cartridge is broken, take out the thread and thread it again. The cartridge won't lock-in unless your presser foot is up and your needle is raised to its hightest position (needle threaders are designed to prevent damage, so they often won't work if the parts of your machine are not positioned properly for threading).
If the cartidge still won't engage, check the page in your manual that describes the parts that came with your machine - you should see a picture of a spool pin. Although the spool pin is designed to accommodate spools of thread that don't fit in your cartrige, you can use the spool pin all the time. Your manual describes how to install the spool pin.
Fortunately, you can purchase spool pins and replacement cartridges from several online sources, including eBay, and some Babylock Dealers sell them (the Babylock and Brother cartidges are interchangeable). I have the same machine, and I always keep an extra cartridge around. I can thread the extra spool while the other is sewing. When the machine stops for a color change, I just insert the extra cartridge with the next color, then thread up the empty cartridge for the next color. Speeds up your embroidery alot.
On Google, type in Brother Thread Cassette - you'll get lots of hits, and you should be able to find a cartridge for about $10.00.
If you have and other readers have time to rate my answer (good or bad), your rating helps me determine whether I understand your problem.
If you have more details about your problem or have additional questions, please feel free to comment. I can send you the instructions for threading the cartridge and installing the spool pin if your manual is missing. Just submit a comment - and I'll help anyway I can.
Cheers, Ginny

Top thread will not loop bobbin thread

Try re treading it. After you have guided the thread thru the eye of the needle turn the wheel until the needle goes all the way down. Keep turning and as the needle starts to come up pull on the needle thread and it should loop the bottom thread and pull until both come back to the top. Now you are ready to sew.

How do I replace the throat plate on my Imagine serger? It seems to not want to fit and lay back down flat.

  • Set lower blade to widest width setting
  • Place differential feed on N
  • Remove Needles
  • Place back circular hole in plate onto the anchor screw(this should never be loosened)
  • Plate will set down flush
  • Reinstall the front holding screw.
  • Reset width control
  • Check lower blade height, per instruction replacement manual.

How do I wind the bobbin?

There are several ways. On most machines you put the empty bobbin on the spine over the bulk of the machine on the right hand side. Twist some threads around the bobbin to get started, then put the thread through the thread loop above the shuttle area on your left side. That keeps the tread tension right. There is a gear the clicks into the bobbin. You push that closed. You will have to release the clutch by turning the large wheel on your right hand side. Not hard to find and it usually is hand size. It is the one that goes around and around when you are sewing. Grasp it firmly and turn the top toward you. This will prevent the needle from going up and down when the thread is pulled onto the bobbin. Don't forget to tighten the large "wheel" when you are done.

After winding a bobbin on my Juki TS2010Q and releasing the winding lever, my machine will not run, Up/Down needle or cut. The electronic buzz indicates that it is trying but nothing happens.

Have you tried pulling gently on the thread coming up from the bobbin? If this doesn't give, the thread may be tangled around the mechanism (under the machine, where the bobbin fits). Open that section and you should see if there is excess thread wound around. Clear this, and when you put the machine back in place, gently hold the bobbin thread to assist in not having loose thread to tangle again. This sounds like my machine sounds when that happens to mine so I hope this fixes it.

When I push down on the thread cartridge, it won't go all the way in and then the threader pops back up. This has never happened before.

Lets start with this. Make sure your presser foot is up and the needle bar is in the up position aswell. Also make sure that the thread spool is the right size for the caset.

WHat is wrong when the thread is pileing up on the botom side of fabric and it stalls during sewing? It is the main thread and not the bobbin thread, I changed colors so I could tell what tread was...

Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.

My auto thread component is not egaging the thread down to the needle.

Need more information. Is the auto thread component going down to the needle? Is
it missing the needle hole? If this is the problem, make sure that the needle position is in the correct position by pushing the needle position button. This will bring the needle to correct height for the thread to be inserted. I had a problem similar and it was because the needle was not in the correct position. When using the thread insertion press it slowly and watch to see where the insertion part is going.

make sure that the thread is snug...do you have the thread cap on? I've had this problem and it is usually corrected if the thread doesn't have any play inside of the cassette.

Unable to thread lower looper on Babylock Eclipse BLE1SX

On rare occasions lint can clog the yubes on these sergers. One of the first things I do is thread the wire through in the opposite direction. It will sometimes push the blockage out. The other option is to use an air compressor and again blow the lint out from the opposite side. If this does not work take it to a service man.
