Trying to install Lexmark X5130 onto Laptop

I am trying to install the Lexmark X5130 onto my Dell XPS M1530. Is this possible? When I inserted the disk it told me that the USB cable was not compatible and that I needed to upgrade my operating system to Windows 2000 or XP. I have Vista now so I don't want to "Downgrade".

I have a Lexmark 1100 series printer that works with my Dell XPS M1530. So it is possible. I found this driver, http://www.xpvistasite.com/lexmark_x5130_8613.htm.
I never mess with the printer cd. I just pluged it in and vista found a driver for it. I only use the printer and the scanner.

Drivers missing off my dell xps m1530.

Hello you can always download for free here at DELL:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/xps-m1530

Try also the service tag number here:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriversHome/ShowProductSelector?fkey=Drivers_PS

In order to get the right drivers.

But first select your windows system.

Open the folder and download the driver.
You might have to unzip the file before you install it.

Here is not drivers for all windows systems, but the vista driver should work on windows 7.

Good luck

I'm locked out of my dell xps M1530 someone help

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

My Dell XPS M1530 replaceable battery showing warning sign on the battery icon.

Try to see if there is a BIOS update for your laptop. The last version is A12. That sometimes will fix the problem. If not then it is most likely that the internal charger is built into the motherboard of the laptop is starting to fail. You would have to replace that part or most likely the entire motherboard.
