I have checked the Hotpoint web site, and a pcb is £114.00.
You also need the eprom which plugs into the pcb,this is another £24.00, and is unprogrammed, this means that it is a blank memory chip, and has to have the programmes put into memory.
This is something that only Hotpoint can do, so you have to add the cost of calling an enginner to the cost of the parts.
This as you can see, makes it very expensive to repair.
It would be in excess of £200.00.
There is one other alternative, and that is, if the washer is less than 5 years old, then you should be covered by the Hotpoint 5 year part guarantee, but you would have to confirm this with Hotpoint.
It would certainley be cheaper to do it this way.
