HP has a cleaning page that can be created to help remove toner build up on the fuser roller and I believe one for the drum also. Print "Menu Map" to find the cleaning page quickly. These are the two areas that need to be cleaned to help eliminate the "scumming". I would also look inside the device after removing the print/toner cartridge and if you have the toner wipes, remove any toner spillage inside. please do not use paper towels as they shred too easily and will mess up the transfer roller.
Laserjet 3050 does not use corona wires. HP uses a PCR roller which applies the charge to the drum unit. HP stopped using corona wires on most units years ago. What print problem are you having that makes you think that you need to clean the corona wire?
A. The drum is not
being charged.The
charger corona wire is probably broken or not making good electrical
contact. The
charger corona wire may be part of the toner cartridge. Try
uninstalling
and reinstalling the toner cartridge. If that doesn’t work, try
another toner cartridge.
google feedroller and go to their site they have the service amnual on the printer. you will need it if you never done one before.may as well check the corona wire while you are there.
Make sure that the corona wire is clean (use a dry bristle haired artists paint brush or use the cleaning pad supplied with the printer) and making sure that the toner cart cleaner / scraper is not clogged or has some paper jammed on it. Also you can vacuum the Corona Wire with a domestic vac and the nozzle tool or a clean soft brush tool but make sure the printer is turned off before doing it.
